Rhoda leaned in closer to whisper. "She's nothing but a country bumpkin. She's definitely just here hunting for a sugar daddy.

"Everyone knows that Mr. Jennings is just using his daughter's birthday party as a front to invite all the wealthy young heirs and heiresses in our circle. It's basically a massive, disguised matchmaking event for his son, Sheridan."

Una nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I heard my dad say the exact same thing. He even told me to keep an eye out for anyone I might be interested in tonight. No wonder she crashed the party."

"Exactly! If a trailer trash nobody like her actually manages to hook a rich heir here, she'd essentially be winning the lottery."

The two strutted over to Stella. Rhoda was the first to speak, dripping with condescension. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Chloe's trashy cousin from the country. What makes you think a backwater nobody like you belongs at an event like this?"

"Get lost. Good dogs don't block the path!" Stella snapped. She really should have checked her horoscope before leaving the house. Running into this brainless bimbo was the absolute worst.

Rhoda's voice pitched up indignantly. "Who... who are you calling a dog?! You need an invite to get in here. Do you even have one?"

And she genuinely didn't. Sylvie had mentioned that the physical invites were handled by her parents, and as Sylvie's personal friend, Stella didn't need one.

Rhoda let out a triumphant laugh. "Hahaha! Una, look, I told you she was just here gold digging! She doesn't even have an invite, yet she has the nerve to show her face here."

Una chimed in, smirking. "Then I guess she'll just be thrown out before she even crosses the threshold. Come on, let's go inside.

"Don't waste your breath on people like her; it ruins our aesthetic. By the way, my brother is coming tonight too. I'll introduce you to him later."
