Sylvie called out through the door, "Got it, I'll be right down."

"Come on, Stella. Let's go down together."

Stella followed closely behind Sylvie as they descended the stairs.

They stepped out into the elaborately decorated backyard, where all the invited guests were gathered.

After the formal birthday protocols concluded, the crowd naturally split into two factions: one in the front yard and one in the back.

Bagot and Edith Jennings gave a short speech thanking the guests for celebrating their daughter's birthday, offered her their blessings, and then moved to the front yard.

The front yard was reserved for the Jennings family's relatives and older friends, whom the couple would personally entertain.

All four of them obviously spotted her as well and immediately walked over to say hello.
