Stella wasn't actually lying. The owner had brought the spatula out with him when he tried to intervene.
When he pulled out his phone to call the cops, the thugs had knocked it out of his hand along with the spatula, and he had been too panicked to grab it when he retreated.
She had simply picked it up in the chaos and used it to mercilessly tenderize the leader's face.
Naturally, the others had eaten a few solid hits from it too. Those snapped limbs? Entirely courtesy of the heavy iron spatula.
It was just a kitchen tool, but boy, did it pack a punch!
Julius was only half-convinced. He hadn't noticed what the owner was holding earlier because all his focus had been on the guy in the floral shirt.
But right now wasn't the time to interrogate her. He grabbed her arms gently and asked, "Are you hurt?"
"I am." Her master had always taught her to show weakness when appropriate. This seemed like the perfect time.
Julius looked alarmed and immediately started checking her over. "Where? Let me see!"
"I'm hurt right here... in my heart. They really scared me." She was never going to let herself take a physical hit. She wasn't an amateur!
Realizing she was perfectly fine, Julius let out a breath and pulled her into a tight embrace. "I'm so sorry. I'm sorry you had to go through that."
He had genuinely been terrified she was going to get hurt!
Stella had never been in any real danger, but while Julius was taking down those thugs, she had watched him closely. How did a wealthy CEO have such lethal combat skills?
On the surface, it looked like they were hopelessly outnumbered and defenseless.
But Stella saw everything clearly. Julius was ruthless and efficient when he fought, while simultaneously doing everything in his power to shield her from the crossfire.
She had provided massive cover fire and tried to hide her own strength, but it was obvious Julius was highly trained—and not just in basic self-defense. He was genuinely lethal.
Who would have guessed!
