Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 154

Seeing through their plan, one of the thugs lunged forward and blocked Stella's path.

Stella shrugged innocently. "Can't run. They blocked me."

Julius looked down at her, his voice softening. "Are you scared?"

"Nope. As long as you're here, I'm not afraid of anything!" That was how the heroines in those cheesy TV dramas always acted, right? She was just playing the part.

Julius gently patted her head. "Good. I've got you."

Seeing them ignoring him completely and flirting right in his face, the man in the floral shirt snapped. "Get 'em, boys! Break the guy's legs and grab the girl. We're all gonna have some fun tonight."

The group of men erupted into nasty, leering laughter as they tightened their circle around the couple.

Julius didn't hesitate. He launched a brutal, crushing punch straight into the floral shirt man's face.

The blow carried immense force. The man couldn't dodge in time, and his nose instantly erupted in a geyser of blood.

He clutched his face, shrieking like a slaughtered pig. "You son of a bitch! Kill him!"

Seeing their boss get hit, the other thugs flew into a violent frenzy. They swung their beer bottles directly at Julius and lashed out with kicks and punches toward both him and Stella.

The scene erupted into utter chaos.

Thud... thud... thud...

Clang... clang... clang...

Smash... smash... smash...

The sickening sounds of a brutal brawl echoed through the street.

Back inside the restaurant, the owner had ordered his staff to call the police. He wanted to rush out and help, but his employees were too terrified to join him, warning him it was a suicide mission.

He was absolutely certain the young couple was going to be beaten to death out there.

If they didn't die, they'd be permanently crippled!

But there was no one else here besides him and Stella.

Had Stella done this?

He shot her a look of deep suspicion.

Stella innocently held up a heavy metal spatula. "I just whacked them with this. I didn't mean to hit them so hard, but I guess I put a little too much muscle into it."

Julius looked even more bewildered. "You really took them down with that? Where did you even get it?"

Wasn't that the spatula the owner had been using to stir-fry snails?

She had been completely empty-handed just a minute ago.

Stella blinked innocently. "I just picked it up off the ground. I think the owner dropped it when he came out to break up the fight."

It made sense. The grill didn't just sell skewers—they also served fried noodles, spicy snails, and all kinds of street food.
