Now she was really doomed!
Julius flashed his brother a deadly smile and hung up the video call.
Jason shuddered violently. Why was his brother smiling at him so gently?
It was terrifying!
He needed to get back to the old mansion and find Nadine immediately!
He grabbed his packed bags, locked the door, and practically sprinted out, terrified that if he lingered a second longer, his brother would materialize in front of him.
After hanging up, Julius moved closer and sat next to Stella.
"Care to explain the street racing?" He hadn't even gotten to the bottom of today's incident, and now there was street racing too?
"I don't want to talk about it!"
Julius's temper flared. "Stella Hawthorne, do you have any idea that street racing is illegal? Do you value your own life so little? Did it ever cross your mind that I would be worried? Do you even consider me your husband?!"
He could let the little things slide and wouldn't force her if she didn't want to talk about them.
But when it came to something as critical as her personal safety, as her husband, he had every right to know.
Stella's own temper spiked, and she dropped the act entirely. With a cold expression, she snapped, "Why are you yelling at me? You're only my husband in name.
This is a contract marriage, and we're getting a divorce in a year anyway. This is just who I am. I'm a country girl, and if you can't stand the sight of me, you don't have to wait a year! We can go straight to City Hall and get a divorce right now!"
Julius was so furious he could have strangled the infuriating woman. So she really was hell-bent on divorcing him.
In a fit of anger, he pulled her in roughly, holding the back of her head, and kissed the very mouth that never ceased to provoke him.
"Stella, you truly are a block of ice. When did I ever say I couldn't stand you because you're from the country?"
"Are you entirely blind to how well I've treated you since we got married? Is divorcing me the only thing on your mind?"
