When Stella went downstairs, Nadine was still on the first floor watching television.

She greeted the older woman, "Grandma, I need to go out and buy a few things. Julius said Larry would arrange a car for me."

Nadine smiled warmly. "Alright, alright, go ahead. Make sure you buy plenty of things. Come here and let's add each other's contacts so I can transfer you some spending money. Buy whatever your heart desires."

Nadine assumed she was going out to buy clothes and such. After all, she had only brought one small suitcase; how much could she have possibly packed?

Stella waved the black card in her hand. "Grandma, there's no need. Julius gave me his card. I have money."

Seeing the black card in the young girl's hand, Nadine was even more thrilled. Her grandson had actually given her his supplementary card, which proved he must like this girl. It seemed she needed to figure out a way to get the two of them to register their marriage license as soon as possible. The warding-off-death marriage probably only fully took effect once they were officially married!

"That's wonderful. But Chloe, come add Grandma's contact anyway."

"Okay, Grandma."

If it made the older woman happy, she didn't mind. It wasn't a big deal.

After adding her, Nadine immediately sent Stella a digital cash gift of 9,999 dollars, symbolizing everlasting luck. She truly hoped the young girl would be exactly as the Abbot had predicted—able to ward off death, help her grandson survive this crisis, and then live a long, everlasting life with him.

"Chloe, hurry up and accept the cash gift. It's a token of Grandma's affection, you can't refuse it."

Stella accepted the money. She would just bring back a nice gift for the old lady later to return the favor.

"Go on and buy your things then. Make sure you come back early for dinner. I'll have the kitchen make something delicious for you tonight."
