Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 223

The pair stopped right in front of Stella and Julius.

Rhoda spoke up, her voice dripping with venom, "Well, if it isn't Chloe's sister, Ms. Hawthorne. We meet again.

What a coincidence. Are you two here for the Niche Perfume Salon? Does a country bumpkin like you even know how to appreciate fine fragrances?"

Rhoda absolutely despised Stella. Every time she saw her, she couldn't resist the urge to throw insults her way.

Stella didn't even dignify her with a glance. Instead, she gently shook Julius's arm and sighed, "Darling, how can a high-class establishment like the Golden Tripod have flies buzzing around? It's so loud and annoying."

Julius was secretly laughing on the inside. This girl was absolutely ruthless!

But it was the first time he had ever heard her call him 'Darling,' and he had to admit, he liked the sound of it.

"Ahem." He was just about to play along when Rhoda exploded.

"You bitch! Who are you calling a fly?!"

Chloe had never actually told her Stella's full name, and Rhoda had never bothered to ask, so she could only refer to her by her last name.

Stella replied coolly, "Whoever is buzzing the loudest right next to me, obviously."

"You..." Rhoda was so furious she was practically sputtering.

Seeing Rhoda get verbally destroyed in a matter of seconds, Weber quickly stepped in with a smooth smile to play peacemaker. "So, this is Mr. Blackwood's girlfriend. Is the Blackwood Group planning to invest in the fragrance industry?"

Stella shot him a sideways glance. Jason had mentioned this guy was a useless trust-fund baby. She had zero interest in talking to him.

Julius gave a polite but completely hollow smile. "My girlfriend was interested, so I brought her to take a look."

Stella had strictly forbidden him from revealing their marriage in public. It frustrated him to no end, making him feel like he was a dirty secret.
