Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 241

Stella went down to the first floor.

There was no reason to stick around upstairs. Her only reason for coming up was to find the perfume.

Chloe didn't dare pull any more stunts. After getting her phone back, she obediently handed over Zane Morton's number to Stella.

Having gotten what she came for, Stella left the Hawthorne residence.

Before stepping out, she threw a glance at Chloe. "You'd better not be lying to me. If I track down Zane and find out you made this up, or if this guy doesn't even exist, you're dead meat."

Chloe glared at her retreating back, stomping her foot in frustration. "Mom, did you hear how she threatened me? Ugh!"

Miranda sighed, feeling both angry and helpless. "What else can we do? It's not like you can take her in a fight."

Chloe refused to accept it. "Are we just supposed to let her walk all over us every time she comes back?"

"Just endure it for now. Your father said we shouldn't provoke her. We can't afford to have her complaining to Julius. The Blackwood Group isn't an enemy we can make right now."

It wasn't just the Blackwood Group she was afraid of; truth be told, she was actually somewhat terrified of that crazy woman Stella.

She was utterly unhinged, totally unreasonable, and her capacity for threats and intimidation was on full display.

She really was just like her grandfather—a complete thug.

She had completely transformed from that weak, easily bullied child she used to be.

Chloe stomped her foot again, marching upstairs to her room in a huff.

She was so mad!

After leaving the Hawthorne house, Stella headed straight to the Blackwood Group to find Julius.

Before arriving, she gave him a quick call.

"Julius, I just left the Hawthorne house. I'm coming to see you. It's midday and I haven't even had lunch yet!"

Julius was thrilled to get a call from his wife. "Don't worry, I'll arrange it immediately. Food will be waiting for you the second you get here."

"Make sure it's something I like!"
