Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 246

"I'm not sure. It's not exactly something you can buy off a shelf. I'll have to ask my contact, but last time I checked, he said he was out."

Chloe thought for a moment. "If you do manage to get more, would you sell it to that person?"

Remembering how Stella had cornered her on Saturday, she was determined to stop Stella from getting her hands on the perfume.

Especially since Zane had claimed that "if a couple uses it together, their bond only deepens."

She absolutely refused to let Stella and Julius use that perfume together. The last thing she wanted was for their relationship to improve.

In her ideal world, Julius would find Stella to be nothing but a repulsive country bumpkin, their marriage would crash and burn, and they'd end up divorced.

That marriage was supposed to be hers! Why did Stella get to steal her spot and constantly humiliate her?

She couldn't stand the thought of Stella living a better life.

Stella belonged under her heel, just like she had been ten years ago.

Zane answered honestly, "I don't even know if I can get any right now. But if I do, yeah, I'll probably sell it."

Chloe leaned in, her voice urgent. "If you're going to sell it, could you only sell it to people at our university? Can you promise not to sell it to anyone on the outside?"

She desperately wanted to block Stella's access.

"Of course. I don't really know anyone outside anyway, so I'd stick to selling it on campus. If I get a new batch, do you want me to save you a bottle?"

Money was money, regardless of who bought it.

Reserving a bottle for her was no skin off his back, and he'd still get paid.

"Yes! If you get some, hold onto it for me. Better yet, save me two. I'll take them both." Chloe beamed, thrilled with his answer.

Since Zane promised not to sell to outsiders, Stella was out of luck, seeing as she didn't go to Kingsland.

What Chloe didn't realize was that Zane assumed Stella was a student at the university.

She was so happy Stella had come to visit that she was chattering away non-stop.

They ate and talked, with Sylvie doing most of the talking while Stella listened.

Having already gotten the intel she needed, Stella didn't mind the chatter, enjoying the food while she listened.

But her mind was actually drifting.

Why didn't Zane just call his supplier? Why did he have to physically leave campus to find him?

If that was the case, should she tail Zane tomorrow herself, or should she have Julius send someone from his end?

After leaving the university, Stella shot a text to Julius and headed straight back to the Imperial Gardens.

She took a shower, had a nap, and headed out again in the afternoon.

This time, she wasn't going to the Blackwood Group to find Julius, but to meet an elder.
