His place was guarded around the clock.
Upon returning, he descended into the sprawling basement, where a woman was tied up.
When she saw him, her eyes widened in stark terror. She tried to scream, but could only produce muffled, guttural sounds, unable to form a single word.
It was obvious she had been rendered completely mute.
He turned to the guard watching over the basement. "Did you give her the dose today?"
The guard replied respectfully, "Yes, Mr. Kaye. Just as you ordered, we administered the seventh-day injection."
Gideon stepped closer to the woman, gripping her chin, and took a deep, lingering inhale against her skin. "So fragrant. Another three days of conditioning, and she'll be perfect."
His expression was the picture of absolute depravity.
The woman's terror peaked. She shook her head frantically, trying to scramble backward, but she was already pressed flat against the wall with nowhere left to run.
She had been locked down here for a week, force-fed drugs every single day. Today, they had stopped the pills but injected her with something unknown.
They had destroyed her voice, robbing her of the ability to even cry for help.
Trapped and broken, she squeezed her eyes shut in pure despair.
All she remembered was working late and heading home a bit after hours. How did she end up in this nightmare?
Locked in this hellhole where no one could hear her, she knew her days were numbered.
Tears of hopelessness leaked from her tightly shut eyes.
Gideon took another deep sniff of her skin. "Don't cry, beauty. Just be a good girl. Three more days, and you'll be free."
Free? As in, dead?
Hearing this, the woman opened her eyes, a fragile, desperate hope sparking in her gaze, thinking he actually meant he would let her go. But she still couldn't speak.
Gideon left the basement, returning to his room to make a few calls.
He took another deep breath, his mind already spinning with ways to abduct her.
Once he had her, he would definitely enjoy her himself before beginning the extraction process.
She was just too exquisite to waste!
With a twisted plan forming in his head, he picked up his phone to make another call.
Stella remained completely oblivious to the fact that she had just become a target.
Since Julius had told her to leave the Gideon Kaye situation to him, she had put it out of her mind. When there was an update, Julius would let her know.
The next afternoon, she woke up from a nap and decided to go shopping.
It wasn't that she loved shopping, but she needed to pick out a gift.
This Sunday was Wilfred's birthday, and she needed to find the perfect present for the banquet.
