Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 264

Mr. and Mrs. Jeter were waiting inside. The moment Julius's tall figure appeared in the doorway, the couple immediately stood up.

Byron Jeter hurried over with a warm smile. "Julius, come in, take a seat."

He personally poured Julius a cup of tea. "Here, have some tea first."

Julius placed the gifts on the table and spoke politely. "Thank you, Mr. Jeter. Just a small token of appreciation, specifically for you and Mrs. Jeter." The implication was clear: there was nothing for Yvonne.

"Haha, no need to be so formal! It's not your first time here. I'm just so happy to see your legs are fully recovered."

"I was lucky to find an authority in the field right when things looked the most hopeless."

Byron sighed with emotion. "Indeed. You have no idea how worried we all were back then. We were looking everywhere for specialists to help you."

They had been worried, sure, but the moment they realized how bad it was, that concern had vanished instantly.

People were nothing if not pragmatic.

"Dad, dinner's ready. Let's eat first and chat later, okay?" Yvonne called out from the dining room, her tone overly excited.

She had pretended to go help in the kitchen right after following Julius inside.

Byron laughed. "Alright, let's eat. Come on, Julius, to the dining room. You have to have a couple of drinks with me tonight."

He was extremely satisfied with Julius. Before the accident with his legs, Byron's greatest wish was for Julius to become his son-in-law.

Even after the accident, he hadn't immediately given up, genuinely trying to find doctors.
