There was absolutely no need to dress herself up like a walking hazard.
No need at all.
"I'm glad you like them." He knew she would. He had personally selected the designs and commissioned these custom pieces for her over a week ago.
"I do, I really do."
At the Eames residence.
When Julius and Stella arrived, they found Cecilia waiting personally by the front door.
Stella was wearing one of the pieces Julius had ordered for her: a perfectly tailored, minimalist pale yellow V-neck dress. Her hair was swept up into an elegant updo, showing off her graceful neck and luminous, flawless skin.
Julius looked impeccably sharp in a classic white dress shirt and black tailored suit.
He was a natural clothes hanger; he looked breathtaking in absolutely anything.
"Stella, you're finally here! You look gorgeous!" Cecilia cheered, rushing forward with her arms wide open to hug her idol.
But before she could make contact, Julius smoothly blocked her.
"No need to be so enthusiastic, Ms. Eames. Just lead the way." Only he was allowed to hug his wife. Nobody else. Not even another woman.
"Oh... alright. Mr. Blackwood, please follow me." Cecilia felt a pang of disappointment at being denied her hug.
But her spirits quickly bounced back. She skipped over to Stella's right side, looped her arm affectionately through Stella's, and happily led them toward the living room. She decided she would just hug her later when Mr. Blackwood wasn't looking.
Julius felt a flicker of annoyance, but since she was only holding Stella's arm, he let it slide. He couldn't blame her; his wife was simply too beautiful.
Hearing her mother mention her idol, Cecilia chimed in excitedly, "Dad, Mom, Ian! You have no idea how amazing Stella was in that basement.
She just raised her hand and—bam!—took the guy down in one move! And in the woods, she was throwing punches and kicks, knocking the bad guys out cold in seconds! She was incredible!"
Cecilia jumped to her feet, enthusiastically recreating Stella's combat moves. Her clumsy, uncoordinated pantomime was hilarious, earning a burst of laughter from the room.
Valery chuckled, "Alright, alright, stop being a comedian and sit down."
She turned back to Stella. "You have no idea, Stella. Ever since she got back, she hasn't stopped talking about how incredible you are.
She reenacts your fights for us every single day, and the moves change every time. It's like watching a comedy sketch."
Stella smiled gently. "Mrs. Eames, I'm really not that incredible. It was just a desperate reaction in the heat of the moment. If I hadn't taken them down, we would have been the ones in trouble."
