Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 380

The email contained a single, cryptic sentence: "The person you're looking for is in Port City."

The person she was looking for?

The only person she was actively searching for was her grandfather. Was he really in Port City?

Pulse racing, Stella immediately headed to the Blackwood Group headquarters to find Julius.

Just two days ago, Julius had mentioned that his operatives found traces of her grandfather in Xanburg, Port City, Cloudcroft City, Bay City, and even near the international borders.

She had been planning to travel to these locations to investigate personally.

She refused to let even a sliver of hope slip through her fingers.

She had been searching for him for years without a single solid lead. Now that she finally had a direction, she had to act.

Before leaving, she texted Julius, letting him know she would be at his office in thirty minutes.

When she arrived, Julius personally came down to the lobby to receive her.

His motive was entirely calculated: he wanted every single employee in the building to recognize that he was a married man, and that Stella was his wife. That way, they would know to treat her with absolute reverence and drop any other romantic ambitions.

"Why did you come down? I could have just gone up myself," Stella said. The front desk staff hadn't changed; they recognized her and always let her straight through.

"My wife is visiting. Of course I'm going to escort her personally," he replied smoothly.

The receptionist sneakily snapped a photo of their backs and sent it to the company group chat.

"The boss's wife is here."

His marriage was no longer a tightly kept secret. A few bold executives had casually verified it with Sexton Hale—the CEO was indeed officially off the market. However, very few people had actually seen Mrs. Blackwood in person.

Someone in the chat immediately replied: "We need a face reveal!"

The receptionist typed back: "Are you crazy? I want to live."

The CEO reserved all his warmth exclusively for his wife. To everyone else, he was a walking glacier who could end a career with a single glare. She wasn't about to risk it.

Julius led Stella into his vast office and poured her a glass of water.

"No, you don't have to. I can go by myself. You have way too much work to do here," Stella protested, not wanting to burden him.

She vividly remembered Jason Blackwood complaining a few days ago. He had groaned, "I'm already drowning just managing the hospitality, tourism, and entertainment divisions.

My brother is an absolute machine. He simultaneously controls real estate, mining, telecommunications, tech, healthcare..."

That was when she truly comprehended the staggering scale of the Blackwood empire.

She was fairly certain he wasn't just the wealthiest man in the capital—he easily qualified as the richest man in the country, maybe even the world.

No wonder the black card he gave her literally had no limit.

Her husband was absurdly wealthy.

"It's fine. Sexton can manage the day-to-day. Anything he can't handle, he'll just dump on Jason. Besides, if I'm with you, my network can help you uncover the truth much faster."

There was no vicious inheritance war in his family; it was just him and his younger brother.

With the Blackwood Group continuously expanding under his reign, Julius was more than happy to force Jason to pick up some of the slack.
