"Yeah, we'll go together. Thank you."
Stella didn't refuse. Having a tech genius by her side would definitely be a huge help, and tracking down clues would be much easier.
"Stella, we're husband and wife. You never have to thank me. Your business is my business."
He really didn't like it when his wife acted so formal with him.
"Alright, I won't say it anymore. You go handle your work first, I'll wait for you."
There was bound to be a mountain of work to delegate before leaving. With a company that massive, he couldn't just drop everything at a moment's notice.
"Okay." Julius didn't say anything more and went straight to dealing with the most urgent and critical tasks.
The two of them grabbed lunch together, and Julius took the afternoon off to accompany Stella to get their travel documents sorted.
With him there, the process went incredibly smoothly.
During the two days they waited for their paperwork to process, Julius rushed through more of his workload, gave Sexton Hale a thorough rundown of what to manage, and informed Jason that evening when they returned to the old manor for dinner.
"Julius, you and Stella need to come back soon. You can't be gone too long." If it were just two or three days, Sexton wouldn't bother him, but if it stretched to a week or more, it'd be a different story.
He had absolutely no desire to go "serve time" at corporate headquarters.
"We'll be back as soon as things are sorted. What are you panicking for?"
"Fine, fine, take as long as you want!" For the sake of his grandmother's great-grandchild, he'd just pretend his brother and Stella were off on a second honeymoon.
Ever since the Autumn Gala, Nadine had been constantly hounding him, asking which girl he had set his sights on that night.
Annoyed by the relentless questioning, he had no choice but to use Sabrina Sherwood as a shield.
Nadine gently tapped him with her cane. "You little rascal, what nonsense are you spouting? Are you just using Sabrina to trick me?"
She paused, then added, "No, I'm calling Sabrina right now. If I find out you're lying to me, I'll break your legs!"
With that fierce threat, Nadine went off to make her call.
She planned to invite the girl over for dinner and subtly create an opportunity for the two to spend more time together and build their bond.
Jason breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness he had already coordinated with that fiery woman Sabrina beforehand. He wasn't worried about his cover being blown.
Right now, his biggest wish was for his brother and Stella to have a baby soon so Nadine would finally get off his back.
"Julius, you're not actually struggling, are you, just like Grandma said? You and Stella have been married for months now. Why isn't she pregnant yet?"
