Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 390

Nina had to shake the cup for ages to pull that off. It was never this effortless.

She looked like a kid playing pretend. There was no way she had actually rolled a perfect vertical stack inside.

Stella simply gestured toward the cup. "Why don't you open it and see for yourself?"

Looking highly doubtful, Drake lifted the cover. His eyes went wide.

It was a perfect vertical stack.

And the top die showed the lowest possible point!

He forced himself to stay calm. *Beginner's luck,* he thought.

"Let's try the absolute highest points." He wanted to push her.

"You got it." The moment the words left her mouth, Stella grabbed the cup. With the same breathtaking elegance, she gave it two quick shakes and slammed it down. "Time for magic. Your turn, Drake."

This time, Drake didn't say a word. He lifted the cup to reveal six dice neatly lined up in two perfect rows, all showing the maximum points.

He couldn't chalk this up to luck anymore. You couldn't roll exact numbers on demand without serious, undeniable skill.

This girl actually had the chops.

But he wanted to test her one last time. "Three points. Absolute minimum."

Without a word of hesitation, her hand moved in a blur. Down went the cup. A perfect vertical stack, totaling exactly three points.

"Okay, your dice work is incredible, but I don't know about the rest. Beating Nina isn't going to be easy. She's a master at Sic Bo, Fan-Tan, and Poker."

He had no idea who trained Nina, but her technique was flawless. In the two years she had been running tables, no one had even come close to dethroning her.

"It doesn't matter. Whatever you want to see, I can show you."

Stella was practically radiating confidence. She had mastered all these games when she was a kid. This was nothing.

Seeing how unshaken she was, Drake challenged her again. "Show me what you can do with cards."

"Sure."

She hadn't even stopped to look!

He flipped it. The King of Hearts.

Refusing to accept defeat, Drake demanded, "An Ace."

Stella delivered immediately.

"A nine."

A nine slid perfectly in front of him.

He was entirely speechless.

With skills like this, destroying Nina would take minutes.

But how on earth had a girl this young reached this level of mastery?

"Who is your master?" The curiosity was eating him alive. He just had to know.
