Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 399

Stella held her hands up in an effortless shrug. "Is it really that hard? I've been doing this since I was a kid."

"You..." Nina was completely at a loss for words.

She had sacrificed countless sleepless nights and bled over the tables to master her signature tower. And this little brat just brushed off a god-tier technique as a childhood parlor trick? Was she even human?!

Drake stared at the girl, absolutely floored.

Was Star trying to put Nina into early cardiac arrest?

But he couldn't deny it—he was entirely in awe of her. He had no idea she possessed this level of monstrous skill.

"You win," Nina forced out, taking a deep, ragged breath.

"Shall we continue, Nina?"

"Obviously. We've only played one round." If she let some kid scare her off after a single loss, her reputation in the underground would be finished!

"Next game is cards." Since the girl was practically a demon with the dice cup, Nina wasn't about to fight her on her home turf. It was just one loss. The real massacre was about to begin.

"Sure thing. Whatever you want to play." To get her grandfather's location, she'd play the woman in anything.

"Blackjack. Sound good?" Nina asked.

Stella nodded easily. "Works for me."

Nina pulled a fresh, sealed deck from the tray and slid it toward Stella. "Check the deck."

Stella chuckled softly. "No need. I trust you, Nina."

Hearing this, Nina's ego was somewhat mollified. At least the brat knew how to show respect.

"Alright then. Dealer, wash and deal the cards," Nina commanded.

No matter what cards Nina pushed, Stella called every single bet.

Nina peeked at her hole card and smirked. "Sweetheart, are you absolutely sure you want to keep calling? You push any further, and you'll be walking out of here empty-handed."

Since the girl had supposedly 'lost' the previous hands, Nina decided to offer some mock pity.

"Doesn't matter. Last hand. I'm all-in." Stella nonchalantly shoved her remaining mountain of chips—half her total stack—into the center of the table.

Drake thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. He rubbed them vigorously and stared at the felt. It was real. Star's hand beat Nina's by exactly one point!

She had been seemingly losing hand after hand, only to perfectly orchestrate a total reversal on the final all-in!

How in the world did this woman pull that off?

Had she been intentionally throwing the previous rounds?

Julius's lips curved into a proud smile. His little wife was full of lethal surprises!

He hadn't seen this side of her at all!

He was getting more and more curious about exactly who her former masters were.

Nina slammed her hands on the table and stood up. "You... you cheated!" Her composed, icy demeanor was completely shattered.

In all her years ruling the tables, she had never been dismantled this brutally!

The girl had intentionally lost the small hands just to utterly humiliate her in the final moments!
