Ten minutes later, Marsh called back. “Boss, I found out she booked a flight back to the Capital ten days ago.”

“But she never boarded. The airport system shows her checked luggage arrived and has been sitting at baggage claim unclaimed ever since. I dug deeper and found she bought a ticket to the border right after, and the boarding records confirm she got on that flight.”

Julius’s voice turned deadly serious. “Alright, I understand. Keep digging. If you find even a trace of her, tell me immediately.”

“Understood, Boss.”

After hanging up, Julius sat in his car, deep in thought.

She went to the border?

Did she find a lead on her grandfather in international waters?

The anonymous email she received had originated from the border region.

Being near the border was one thing, but crossing it meant entering North Myanor. That place was a chaotic nightmare. If she actually went there, she was in extreme danger.
