Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 480

Yet Doris had the absolute audacity to try and run her off?

And not just that—she had knocked his woman out and explicitly threatened to stomp the life out of his unborn child?

"Doris, what else do you have to say for yourself?" He had waited so long for a child, and this bitch had actively tried to destroy it. She was dead!

Doris scrambled for an excuse, her voice shrill with terror. "No, Boss, it wasn't like that! I didn't mean to hit her! She provoked me on purpose!"

In hindsight, she finally realized she had been played. When she raised her hand, the little bitch had practically leaned into the slap!

Tiger roared, "Throw her to Paula! Now!"

He hadn't even dared to raise a finger against his woman, yet Doris had slapped her and tried to kick her. She was going to pay in blood.

"No! Boss, please! I'm begging you, don't send me to Paula!"

"Ms. Todd, please, tell him! Tell him I didn't mean it! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!"

Doris was dragged away, her desperate screams echoing long after she was out of sight.

"Don't look at her. Anyone who threatens you or our child will be dealt with permanently."

"Tiger, I was just so scared. I didn't even do anything to her, why would she treat me like that? Thank God the baby is okay." Stella looked away, her face a mask of trembling vulnerability.

She had nearly broken character and smiled a moment ago.

"Don't be afraid. I'm going to protect you and our child. Come on, I'll take you home."

"Okay."

Stella was escorted back to the villa.

The day hadn't been a complete waste. At the very least, she had eliminated Doris.

Tiger truly was a cold-blooded monster. Doris had worked for him for five years, and he discarded her like trash without a second thought.

Paula was a sadist. Falling into her hands was a fate far worse than death.

Perhaps all this screaming and drama had finally caught the attention of Uncle Vincent's undercover agents. They might even know where she lived now.

...

His eldest nephew had always been famously calculating and icy under pressure. No matter how disastrous the corporate crisis, Julius handled it flawlessly.

But when it came to Stella, Julius completely lost his mind. Just days ago, he had been legitimately plotting a one-man infiltration into North Myanor.

Vincent knew he had to drive the point home, terrified the boy would go rogue.

"I know, Uncle Vincent. I won't do anything stupid."

Julius fully understood what a meat grinder North Myanor was. Beyond the sprawling criminal network, the local paramilitary factions were deeply entrenched.

His initial desperation had driven him to the edge of madness, but the worst of the panic had faded.

Now that he knew Stella was capable of holding her own—and practically running circles around the syndicate—he wasn't paralyzed by fear anymore.

But God, he just wanted her home.

For over a month, he had lived without her. He couldn't eat, he couldn't sleep, and everything he did felt entirely hollow.

And now, with the holidays forcing the world to a standstill and nothing to distract him, his yearning for her was absolutely suffocating.
