Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 505

Julius escorted Stella and his two operatives through the heavy security checkpoints of North Myanor, trailing the first batch of evacuees until they safely crossed back onto domestic soil.

Naturally, the old man who had actively encouraged Stella to divorce him tagged along. Fenton was her mentor, and despite his grating personality, Julius knew he had to treat him with respect.

Julius had flown in on a private jet. Once they arrived at the military tarmac and cleared their credentials, he prepared the aircraft for departure.

It was Stella's first time seeing him pilot a plane.

He wore aviator sunglasses, sitting perfectly upright. His sharp, sculpted profile was illuminated by the cockpit lights, his long fingers resting elegantly on the controls as he stared intently ahead. He looked so incredibly handsome that she couldn't tear her eyes away.

"Enjoying the view, darling?"

She had insisted on sitting in the co-pilot's seat just to watch him fly. From the moment he took the controls, her gaze had been glued to him.

"Very much so. My husband is extremely handsome." It was the absolute truth.

Julius's lips curved into a smirk. "Compared to Tiger?"

"There's no comparison. You win by a landslide. That scumbag is nothing."

Objectively speaking, Tiger wasn't bad-looking. Though he lacked Julius's refined edge, he was far above average compared to most men.

But considering the monstrous atrocities he'd committed, all the good looks in the world couldn't hide the devil underneath.

Julius's smile deepened. His mood was brighter than the sun blazing outside the cockpit window.

Upon landing back in the Capital City, the group prepared to part ways.

"Fenton, are you staying at our place, or do you want a hotel? I can also set up a private villa for you if you'd prefer," Stella offered, seeking her mentor's preference.

"I am absolutely not staying at your house. Book me a hotel."

The old man had no intention of being an obnoxious third wheel. He wanted a plush hotel where he could comfortably wine and dine his girlfriends.

He had romantic acquaintances all over the country, and the Capital City was no exception.

Julius smoothly interjected, "Fenton, the Blackwood Group owns several luxury hotels. I can have them prepare the best executive suite for you. Stay as long as you like, fully comped."

Fine. If he wasn't going to put her down, she wouldn't fight it. Her protests were merely a show of modesty anyway.

She knew exactly what he wanted, and frankly, she wanted it just as much.

They were newlyweds who had been separated for far too long.

The night stretched out, feeling both infinite and entirely too short. They made love through the night, moving from the bathroom to the living room, and finally collapsing in the bedroom in an exhausted, blissful tangle.

...

The next day.

By the time Stella finally opened her eyes, it was already noon.

Her entire body ached. Julius had zero restraint. He had thoroughly exhausted her.

After freshening up, she padded downstairs to scavenge for food, only to find him lounging on the living room sofa.
