Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 513

It sounded so simple. 'Sending her abroad'—so what?

'She will never appear in front of you'—so what?

Once there was a child involved, there would be an endless web of connections. He couldn't just say she'd vanish and make it true.

All the other woman would have to do was throw a massive tantrum, play the victim, and she would have Julius wrapped entirely around her finger.

After all, Julius owed her father a life. He wasn't a ruthless or heartless man. As long as Faye used that leverage against him, he wouldn't be able to turn her away.

Julius looked agonizingly pained. "No, Stella. You're the one I love. I don't love her. I have absolutely zero feelings for her."

He hadn't wanted things to go this way with Faye. He never could have predicted she would drug him.

"You just wanted to hide the mistress from me. Otherwise, why didn't you say anything? When I directly asked you about it last night, you had no intention of telling me the truth."

But then again, even if he had told her the truth last night, she still wouldn't have been able to stomach the fact that he slept with another woman and got her pregnant.

Ironically, she had faked a pregnancy in North Myanor to trick Tiger, yet Julius had gone and created a very real pregnancy with Faye in South Africa just to disgust her.

"I didn't intentionally hide it from you. I just didn't know how to tell you. I was terrified you'd get furious and demand a divorce."

For the first time, Julius's usual unshakable composure cracked, revealing a rare sliver of panic.

"Stella, I know I wronged you. Please, just give me one chance to earn your forgiveness, alright? I don't want a divorce."

His tone was almost entirely devoid of pride as he begged her.

Stella shook her head. "No. I don't have a fetish for raising a mistress's kid, and I certainly can't endure the other woman wedging herself into our marriage.

I want a divorce. We signed a prenup. Whoever commits infidelity walks away with nothing. Let's end this."

If the affection between two people was no longer pure, she would much rather split than force a miserable, resentful partnership.

"Stella, it's okay if you don't want to raise the child. I'll hire people to do it. I promise you, Faye will never be allowed to disrupt our lives."

As long as she didn't divorce him, he would agree to anything.

"But I care. I won't be able to get past this. Julius, are you seriously trying to back out of the agreement?"

Even if the child was completely innocent, she couldn't tolerate it.
