Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 533

Two days later.

"Stella, I have to go to South Africa to deal with Kael. Will you come with me?"

Julius felt that having Stella by his side would make things safer, especially since they were bringing Faye along. What if Faye tried to pull another stunt on the way?

His heart couldn't take being set up by another woman again.

"Alright. I don't have much going on these next few days, so I'll keep you company."

It was better to go with him, just to ensure no one else tried to sink their claws in.

"Go pack a bag, then. We're leaving at 3:00 PM."

He had gone to the office that morning, wrapped up some business, and come straight back.

"Wait, Julius, why the sudden rush? I haven't even booked a flight yet."

He was just deciding to leave on a whim? It was already noon.

Julius ruffled her hair. "I already booked your ticket. All you have to do is come with me."

"Seriously? When did you book a ticket for me? Weren't you worried I'd say no?"

"It wouldn't have mattered. If you were too busy, I would have just canceled it," Julius said casually.

"Then why didn't you mention this to me last night?"

Who springs a trip on someone hours before they need to leave?

Julius let out a low chuckle. "I was planning to, but you were so exhausted you passed out."

He had left her a note before leaving the house that morning, telling her to call him when she woke up. He intended to tell her over the phone, but her call never came.

He didn't want to wake her, so he just waited until he got home to tell her in person.

"You... That's only because you couldn't keep your hands to yourself! How can you even say that? You're shameless!"

He had been insatiable last night, keeping her awake until the early hours of the morning, which was why she had just woken up.

"Yeah, I'm shameless. But can you blame me? My wife is incredibly beautiful." Not just beautiful, but completely intoxicating. He couldn't control himself around her.

Especially now that the whole ordeal with Faye was resolved, he felt even more deeply in love with her. He simply couldn't keep away from her at night.

"You're so annoying. I'm not talking to you anymore, I'm going to pack. Roughly how many days will we be gone?"

Julius kept his arm securely around Stella, not even bothering to glance in Faye's direction. "What do you think?"

"Julius, what do you mean? I don't know, just tell me!"

A terrible sense of dread settled in Faye's stomach.

Did Julius find out something?

No, impossible!

There was no way he could know!!

Julius finally cast a cold glance at her. "Tell you what? Tell you that I know the baby you're carrying isn't mine? Did you really think you could make me your fallback guy?"

Faye's eyes widened in horror. "You... you know? But wasn't that just a prenatal checkup?"

Julius completely ignored her.

Stella kindly filled her in. "We took you for a paternity test."

Panic laced Faye's voice. "How... how could you do that? You didn't even have my consent!"
