Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 551

Once the food arrived, Stella ignored the man sitting across from her and slowly savored her meal.

The man dined with effortless elegance, every movement exuding an aristocratic grace.

Neither of them spoke until the meal was finished.

Having eaten her fill, Stella stood up to leave.

The older man quickly stopped her. "Wait a moment."

Hadn't he mentioned he had something to discuss after they ate? Why was she leaving so abruptly?

"Miss, there's no need to rush. Please, sit down and let's talk. I truly have something important to discuss with you."

"It had better be important. Please don't waste my time," Stella said, taking her seat again.

The man looked at her intently. "My name is Errol Rox. When I appeared in Florian City to help you, it wasn't a coincidence. I had my people following you, and once I knew you were in trouble, I stepped in."

Stella frowned, clearly displeased. "Why would you have me followed? Just because I bumped into you?"

Was this man seriously that petty? It had been a complete accident, and she had already apologized.

"Yes, exactly because you bumped into me."

If they hadn't collided, he never would have caught a glimpse of the necklace she was wearing, and he wouldn't have ordered his men to trail her.

"Hey, mister, I bumped into you by accident. I already apologized! How can you hold such a grudge?"

Stella was left speechless. It was just a minor collision. She had never met a man so lacking in grace.

Errol quickly explained, "No, you misunderstand. I had you investigated because I saw the necklace you were wearing. I personally gave that necklace to the woman I loved... and you said your mother left it to you."

Stella stared at the man across the table in shock.

The necklace her mother left her was from him?

In truth, the moment he saw the necklace and her face, he was already half-convinced. She looked so much like her mother.

He would never forget the woman who was eternally engraved in his heart.

But when she had left him all those years ago, he had no idea she was pregnant.

So a paternity test was the best approach.

Stella thought about it for a moment. Since he had put it on the table, she also wanted to find out once and for all if Frederick was truly her biological father.

"Fine, I agree," she said, plucking a strand of her own hair and handing it to Errol.

Seeing her finally agree, Errol happily plucked one of his own hairs and gave it to her.

She seemed a bit difficult to handle. If she had refused, he would have had to go to great lengths, and even then, he might not have achieved his goal.

After all, she had effortlessly taken down his highly capable assistant with a single hand, and his assistant was no pushover.
