Three days after Julius Blackwood and Stella Hawthorne finished their wedding photoshoot, it was time for Nadine’s birthday banquet.
Julius brought Stella and Jason along to welcome the guests.
Nadine arrived quite early today.
She looked thoroughly elegant and regal, wearing a perfectly tailored dark bespoke silk sheath dress, an emerald bracelet on her wrist, and a string of lustrous pearls around her neck.
She had come early specifically to introduce her new granddaughter-in-law to the extended Blackwood family.
Naturally, there was a hint of showing off involved—after all, Stella was breathtakingly beautiful.
Nadine smiled warmly. "Stella, the Blackwood family has a lot of distant relatives, so don't be nervous and don't feel any pressure.
I’ll introduce you, but it’s completely fine if you don't remember them all. And if anyone is brainless enough to make a snide remark,
you don't have to swallow it. Bite right back. You are the wife of my eldest grandson, and you don't have to take any nonsense from anyone, understood?"
Stella linked her arm through Nadine’s. "I understand, Grandma."
Though the extended family was massive, Julius had already given her a family tree, so she knew exactly who belonged to which branch.
As for anyone foolish enough to try and embarrass her, she wasn't the least bit worried with Nadine and Julius by her side.
Worst case scenario, Jason would step up for her—he had a notoriously sharp tongue.
Since everyone here was family, she wouldn't exactly resort to throwing punches and earning a reputation as a madwoman.
An occasion like this was the perfect opportunity to play the innocent, fragile sweetheart, which was why she chose a pale yellow evening gown that gave her an aura of delicate vulnerability.
