When Roxanne was little, she loved coming to the main estate to play, especially with Julius, and she was always getting into fights with Yvonne.
The fights were usually over who got to pretend to be Julius’s bride during their games. Even now that they were grown, they still exchanged insults whenever they crossed paths.
Instead of immediately handing the gift over to Larry, Roxanne turned her gaze to Stella. "You must be Julius’s new wife. I wonder what kind of gift you prepared for the birthday banquet today?"
Roxanne had almost blurted out that Stella was beautiful, but she absolutely refused to admit it, swallowing the compliment just in time.
She hadn't been back from abroad for long before hearing that Julius had gotten married.
Just a couple of days ago, she ran into that obnoxious Yvonne, who claimed Julius’s new wife was some backwoods nobody.
How could a god-like man like her cousin let himself be dragged down by a small-town girl?
Even though she had to admit this girl was pretty, she still felt Stella was completely unworthy of Julius.
Stella stared at the woman in sheer disbelief. Was she seriously trying to start drama right now?
"Grandma, who is this?" Stella asked, looking at Nadine.
Nadine had just called her Roxanne, and this woman was acting awfully familiar, but there was no one matching this vibe on the family tree Julius gave her.
Nadine introduced her. "Stella, this is Roxanne Morton. Her mother is Yasmin Blackwood, from your great-uncle's side of the family. She grew up calling Julius her cousin and used to play here at the estate."
Stella nodded in understanding. "Oh, so it's Ms. Morton. You can just hand your gift to the butler. As for what I gave Grandma, she knows what it is, and there's really no need to report it to you."
Roxanne sidled up to Nadine and whined, "Look at her! I was just curious and asked a simple question about her gift, and she snapped at me. She's so hard to get along with. Am I not even allowed to ask?"
