Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 616

The next day.

Stella got straight to work.

Time was of the essence, so she had to hustle.

Fortunately, the mountain base was fully equipped with top-tier tools and an abundance of medicinal herbs. Formulating the medication wasn't particularly difficult for her.

As long as she meticulously controlled the ratios of the ingredients and the precise temperatures, the rest was just a waiting game.

It took an entire day to produce just two of the Aeterna Pills. The process was exhausting and incredibly tedious.

Beyond that, on her second day, she crafted a few specialty items for the Myriad Treasures Gallery.

As for the other medications she might need, she had already prepped a solid batch during her last trip to the Bay City lab, enough to last her quite a while.

Once the new lab in the Capital was constructed, compounding these formulas would be infinitely easier.

That was exactly why she hadn't turned down Julius's offer to build her a brand-new facility.

Time on the mountain flew by, and soon it was time for Stella to leave.

"I'm heading out. Take care of yourselves. I'll visit more often when I have the time."

She loaded her supplies into the SUV. Her plan was to drive straight to the airport, leave the car there, and once she returned from Cloudcroft City, swap it back for her sports car at the Blackwood Group headquarters.

Alistair wagged a finger. "Win that Ametrine Herb and bring it back! I'll plant it myself. I guarantee it'll thrive."

Silas crossed his arms. "You've got plenty of time, so drive carefully. No street racing, or I'll tan your hide when you get back."

Magnus pointed at her. "Little Star, I'm telling you, if you don't absolutely crush those Rubinia punks, I'll mold you like a piece of wet clay when you return."

"I know, I know! I promise I'll get exactly what I came for, and I'll come back in one piece. I'm off. Bye!"

Stella quickly hopped into the driver's seat. If she let them keep talking, they'd start digging up her embarrassing childhood stories.

She knew of a specific bakery in town that made them flawlessly. They weren't overly sweet like the commercial brands, the texture was superior, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh—made and sold out on the exact same day.

She wanted to order a batch to bring back to the Capital for her family and friends to try.

"I'm heading out for a bit. You don't need to follow me. Go wherever you want; you've got free time."

The bodyguard bowed respectfully. "Understood, Mrs. Blackwood."

He had accompanied Mr. Blackwood and Stella on the South Africa trip, so he knew full well she was a terrifyingly lethal combatant, nothing like the delicate flower she appeared to be.

Frankly, he felt entirely useless on this assignment. With her skills, she could effortlessly take down ten armed men at once.

Anyone foolish enough to cross her path was signing their own death warrant.

The bakery wasn't too far from the hotel, so Stella decided to walk.

She strolled leisurely down the vibrant street, completely unaware of the venomous eyes tracking her from the shadows.
