Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 641

"Would it be too late to make a round trip right now?" she asked, worried that flying at night might be unsafe.

"It's fine. It's only three in the afternoon, not too late at all. I'll bring a professional pilot. Once we coordinate with air traffic control, we can head out. Wait for me."

Night flights were relatively less crowded, and the flight paths wouldn't be congested. Plus, a round trip would get them back to the Capital around ten in the evening. It wasn't terribly late, and there wouldn't be any issues with fatigued flying at night.

He wanted to bring him back as quickly as possible.

"Okay, I'll wait for you."

By the time Julius Blackwood brought him home, it was already past eleven at night, a bit later than expected.

Stella Hawthorne brought her grandfather to the Imperial Gardens, which would make it easier to treat him.

Dewey Todd was already awake. Seeing that he had been brought to an unfamiliar yet cozy place, and spotting Stella, he didn't react with any extreme emotion.

Although he had lost his past memories, he had seen plenty of things while following Bruno in Cloudcroft City over the years. A small situation like this wasn't enough to make him panic. Besides, the young girl bore absolutely no ill will toward him.

"Little girl, what did you bring me here for?"

The young girl claimed he was her grandfather, but he truly couldn't recall a single thing.

"Grandpa, I brought you back to the Capital. This is my home, and this is my husband, Julius Blackwood. I brought you back to help you recover your memories. Don't you want to know about your past?"

"Can I really get my memory back?"

Dewey hadn't given up on wondering about his past, but no matter how hard he tried, his mind was a complete blank. He couldn't remember anything.

If he could restore his memory and remember his past, that would be for the best. Who would want to live as a man who knew nothing about himself?

"Yes, Grandpa. And I'll help nurse your body back to health. When the time comes, you'll know your past and remember your family. You just need to cooperate with the treatments."

"Alright, girl. I'll trust you for now."

He had been brought here by the young woman right after waking up from a nap, so he had no choice but to go along with it for now.
