Frederick Hawthorne lost his appetite for Mr. Morton's small talk.
If Stella was a partner at Astral Pharmaceuticals, and he was her father, didn't that mean Astral basically belonged to him too?
Astral was at the peak of its success. As long as he could get his hands on even ten percent of its shares, he would be set for life.
"Mr. Morton, I just remembered I have some urgent matters at the company. Let's grab dinner another time. I'll take off first."
After saying that, Frederick hurriedly left.
He needed to find Stella.
Frederick headed home first; he wanted to discuss his next move with Miranda.
Miranda looked at him in surprise. "Why are you home from work so early today?"
"I have no mind for work right now. Do you know the massive news I heard today? Stella is a partner at Astral Pharmaceuticals."
Miranda shook her head in disbelief. "No way, right? Didn't she grow up in the countryside? How could she possibly be a partner at Astral Pharmaceuticals?"
"It's true. A friend of mine told me; his relative attended the wedding yesterday and heard it straight from Astral Pharmaceuticals's CEO."
Miranda's eyes darted thoughtfully as she asked, "Honey, what are you getting at?"
Frederick paced back and forth. "If Stella is a partner at Astral, don't you think, as her father, she should show me some filial respect and give me her shares?"
Miranda nodded. "That makes sense in theory, but would she be willing? She hates us."
Stella was completely unpredictable!
"That's exactly why I came home to brainstorm with you. You're always full of ideas, help me think of a way, quick."
Stella hadn't even wanted him at her wedding. If he suddenly asked her for Astral's shares, there was no way she would just hand them over.
