Worried she wouldn't believe him, Frederick even sent her a video.
"See this? This is an abandoned building in the West End. Right below is a putrid, polluted river. If you don't show up, I'm scattering her ashes into this filthy water."
Stella feigned panic. "Frederick, calm down! I'm coming right now. Please don't throw her ashes away!"
She knew that abandoned building in the West End. Construction had halted because the nearby river had been severely contaminated.
"You'd better get here as fast as you can. Come alone. Don't try anything clever, or you can forget about ever getting her ashes back!"
"Okay, I promise I'll come alone. I won't bring anyone."
Hanging up the phone, Stella knew he couldn't hold back anymore; he was making his final desperate move.
His last resort would definitely involve foul play. Having failed twice, he was fully committing this time and would show no mercy.
She called Julius, informing him that Frederick was about to make his move.
Once Julius had everything arranged, he told her she could proceed to meet the man.
Stella drove alone to the abandoned building in the West End.
"I'm here, Frederick. I came alone. Hand over my mother's urn."
Frederick checked behind her. Seeing no one had followed, he sneered, "What's the rush? I know you picked up some nasty habits in the countryside—you're a violent little thug. Now, sit in that chair and behave."
"Fine, I'll sit." Stella complied, taking a seat in the designated chair.
