"Alright, alright, we'll talk about it when he's a little older," Julius appeased her, figuring he had plenty of time to sweet-talk her into having a daughter later.
The celebration was a warm, joyous affair, filled with close family and their best friends.
Though Rowan Blackwood and Yolanda Vaughn couldn't make it back for their grandson's party, they made sure to send extravagant gifts.
Because Stella was young and healthy, her recovery was incredibly smooth. Within a month, her figure had nearly bounced back completely, save for being a little curvier in the chest from nursing.
She was confident that she'd be back to her pre-pregnancy shape within three months.
Julius, on the other hand, thought she looked better than ever. The added curves and softness made her completely irresistible to him.
"Darling, you look absolutely perfect right now. There is zero need for you to go to some Postpartum Recovery Center."
"Are you sure? I feel like my waist is thicker, and I've gained five pounds."
She had mentioned wanting to sign up for postnatal fitness classes to get her body back, only for Julius to shoot the idea down entirely.
"I'm positive. Your weight is exactly where it should be. You were too skinny before. Look at you now—your skin is glowing, you're soft in all the right places, and most importantly..."
Stella swatted his roaming hand away. "Shameless."
"Who cares about shame? I just want my gorgeous wife. Is that too much to ask?" He had been entirely abstinent for months, and all he wanted was to be close to her.
"No. My body needs at least forty-two days to fully recover internally." As someone trained in medicine, she knew the timeline better than anyone.
"Fine, fine!" He had already waited this long; a few more days wouldn't kill him. Whatever his wife said was absolute law.
"Since today is our son's one-month milestone, I got you a surprise."
"What surprise?"
Julius placed a property deed in her hands. "The new laboratory building in the West End has been completed exactly to your specifications. That entire complex is yours now. You can move your Bay City research team over here, so you won't have to keep flying back and forth."
