Queen of Wild Cards novel Chapter 90

Since Frederick was out, she decided to drop by the Hawthorne estate and interrogate those two idiots to see if she could squeeze any useful clues out of them.

There was still a car sitting in the garage—a limited-edition sports car Julius had gifted her when she moved in, which she hadn't even test-driven yet.

She decided to take it for a spin today.

She tore through the streets, arriving at the estate in record time. Just as she expected, only the mother and daughter were home.

"Stella, you bitch! What are you doing here again? Didn't you say you were never coming back? Get out!"

Ever since Stella had returned, her life had been a non-stop nightmare.

The moment the girl arrived, she stole her room, threw out her clothes, and made a fool out of her.

Then, she snatched away the title of the wealthiest man's wife.

At the club, because of her, Chloe had been humiliated by that disgusting old man. Not only that, she came back and completely trashed their house.

When Chloe visited the Blackwoods, she was brutally mocked by the old matriarch.

And last night, Julius set actual wolfhounds on her because of Stella.

In short, ever since Stella had re-entered her life, Chloe's luck had been cursed.

She loathed her to her very core.

Stella didn't even bat an eye at her screaming. Instead, she casually poured herself a cup of tea.

Miranda barked, "Chloe, shut up! Don't say another word!"

Stella stopped dead in her tracks. She slowly turned to face Chloe, her expression perfectly serene.

"Is what you just said true?"

Her tone was completely flat, her voice barely above a whisper, but the words carried a bone-chilling intent.

It felt like a bucket of ice water had been dumped over their heads in the dead of winter.

But Chloe, entirely oblivious to the danger and ignoring Miranda's warning, smirked triumphantly.

"Of course it's true! Julius's bodyguard pulled the urn out of the doghouse with his own hands last night while Julius watched! And let me tell you, Dad put it in there himself! Haha, your mom belonged in there! Even in death, she deserved to be treated like a dog!"
