Nightshade pack.

Upon looking at the faces of the people around me, it began to make more sense. I recognized the young man who had spoken to me as Tyler Thornhill, the future Alpha of the large pack that stood to the north of the Crescent Hollow territory.
And there was his father, Alpha Samson, tall and broad with a thick mustache that was going gray in some spots.
Both Tyler and his father had the same kind face, the same warm eyes. Only Tyler’s mother, Luna Natasha, had a cold look about her. Her brown eyes were narrow with suspicion and she was looking at me like I was an outsider.
Which I was.
“I found you in the woods outside the pack borders,” Tyler was saying. “You were unconscious, so I took you in. You’re currently resting in the Nightshade hospital.”
“What is your name?” Alpha Samson asked, tilting his head. “Where are you from? Do you have any family?” He exchanged looks with Tyler. “You seem so familiar to Tyler and me, so I must ask…”
Family… The last thing I recalled before everything went dark was the nurse saying that both my baby and I wouldn’t make it. Instinctively, I pressed my hand to my belly, finding it flat.
So my baby hadn’t survived after all. Perhaps the Moon Goddess only gave me a new body, and not my child, when she sent me back..
My hatred for my family and for Kade deepened even further. My child wouldn’t have died if it weren’t for them.

Needing comfort, I reached deep within me for Ava’s presence, hoping to find her in the forest clearing in my
mind.
It was still empty. Cold. Windy.
No sign of my wolf.
“Ava?” I called out, mental voice echoing in that space between planes. “Ava, are you here?”
No answer. My heart lurched as I realized that my wolf was missing.
But the Moon Goddess had said I had a mission. She referred to my silver wolf, called me Silver One–surely she wouldn’t send me back without Ava.
Retreating from my mental hiding place, I found myself in the hospital room again. Everyone was looking at me expectantly, so I decided to keep the details to myself. I didn’t know these people or their intentions, and I still needed to collect my bearings before I did anything rash.
“My name is Elena,” I blurted out without thinking. It was the name of a heroine I’d read a book about recently–a book I’d secretly stolen from the Crescent Hollow library. Anything to escape from my brutal reality for a while.” And I’m a… rogue. I don’t have any family.”
One of those things was true, at least. My family was dead to me. And I was dead to them.
Strangely, Tyler and Samson did seem familiar to me, too. I could almost have sworn we were related somehow… But I chalked it up to my dazed state.

Luna Natasha hissed through her teeth. “I told you she was a rogue, Tyler. You never should have brought her here.

Tyler exchanged a look with his father. “But I can’t send her away now. She’s wolfless,” Tyler insisted, then turned to me. “The doctor said your wolf is missing. Do you remember what happened to you?”
I shook my head, and Tyler sighed. “Well, you should at least stay long enough for your wolf to return, Elena.”
