Chapter 21
1/2
Didn’t Louisa just recently say that she only liked Stanley and no one else? Yet now, she’d changed her mind! Could it be that Jasper had completely satisfied her last night? What a slut!
Estelle cursed internally, growing angrier at the thought of Louisa “tainting” Jasper.
She then lowered her eyes and said meekly, “You have a point, Louisa. I just thought that Jasper would take good care of you and that he’d wait until the two of you got married before doing such a thing. You would’ve felt more secure that way, wouldn’t you?”
She thought Louisa cared deeply about her chastity, so she didn’t believe Louisa would be so nonchalant about losing it to someone she didn’t love.
Yet, Louisa simply smiled.
“I didn’t expect you to be so old-fashioned, Estelle. We’re in modern times now, so why bother with all those restrictions? What matters most is that Jasper and I consented to it.”
Estelle’s nails nearly sank into her palms. What was going on? Why did it feel like Louisa had grown far harder to control than she used to be?
Meanwhile, Timothy heaved a sigh of relief after hearing Louisa’s words. It seemed that Louisa had really changed. She was no longer the immature and quick-tempered young woman she used to be.
“Louisa’s all grown up now.” Timothy gently patted Louisa’s shoulder with a glad look in his
eyes.
Louisa grinned back at him. “I’m an adult now.’
She felt a little sad on the inside, though. Timothy must have worried about her so much in her previous life!
Estelle felt pissed upon seeing Louisa and Timothy share this tender moment with each other. Timothy’s expression had been dark and sullen throughout their entire trip here earlier. “Well, if everything’s okay and you’re alright, we’ll take our leave now,” Timothy said. Estelle’s gaze shifted instantly. She went over and wrapped her arms around Louisa’s arm. Louisa knew Estelle was up to no good again and held back the strong urge to shove Estelle away, even as her disdain for her grew.
“I don’t feel safe leaving you here alone, Louisa. Why don’t I live here with you?” Estelle suggested kindly. “Even though I won’t be used to staying in a stranger’s house, I’ll be alright as long as I’m living with you.”

Estelle beamed at Louisa as if she really cared for her as a sister.
Rosie smiled at the side and said, “Estelle can’t bear to be apart from you. She’s been talking about you nonstop ever since you left home.”
Timothy felt really happy seeing how well Estelle and Louisa were getting along too.
Estelle smiled shyly even as something flashed in her gaze.
Louisa could easily see what Estelle was scheming.
So, she was thinking of seducing Jasper, huh? Louisa wasn’t going to give Estelle a single chance to do that this time!
“It’s not that I don’t want you to, Estelle. It’s just that my fiancé likes his peace and quiet. He doesn’t like outsiders living here with us,” Louisa said, a little exasperated.
“But I’m your baby sister. Does that still make me an outsider?” Estelle asked. She then hugged Louisa’s arm and cooed, “I need to stick around and see whether Jasper is treating you well. What if he’s mean to you when we’re not around?”
Anyone else would probably think Estelle was genuinely concerned about Louisa’s well-being after hearing such a reasonable concern.
“Oh, Estelle. This is a matter between your sister and her husband,” Rosie said, exasperated. There was the faintest hint of doting affection in her tone.
Estelle laid her head against Louisa’s shoulder and cooed, “But anything to do with Louisa has to do with me. Plus, we still don’t know why the Hayes family accepted Louisa as Jasper’s bride. I’m worried they might end up bullying her.”
Timothy fell into deep thought upon hearing that. He actually cared deeply for Louisa.
Louisa knew that Timothy might very well agree to Estelle’s idea upon hearing such words. She was about to say something in response when a commotion sounded from the front door.
