Chapter 25

Jasper asked, “Medicine?”
“Yeah. The herbs are for a medicinal brew. Did you think I just sat there and looked at them while I was in the kitchen just now?” Louisa blinked innocently.
Jasper’s dark eyes locked on hers, deep and endless like a black hole ready to pull her in.
Being stared at like that made her uneasy. “What’s wrong?”
The next second, her chin was lifted and her waist was pulled tightly into his arms. His warm breath brushed against her skin.
Upstairs, Estelle was extremely dissatisfied with the room she’d been assigned. It was so far away. How was she supposed to get close to Jasper like this?
She couldn’t get anywhere arguing with Maryanne, so she stormed downstairs in a huff. Just as she was about to complain to Jasper, she saw the couple.
Jasper was kissing Louisa. It was undeniably gentle yet filled with a commanding, possessive intensity. Just watching them made Estelle’s cheeks burn.
She froze.
When she snapped out of it, her eyes were bloodshot with anger. She rushed over and shouted, “What are you doing?”
Maryanne had come down as well and immediately grabbed Estelle. Did she have no sense at all? Seeing people in the middle of something like that, shouldn’t she know to turn the other way? Maryanne’s impression of her dropped another notch.
Louisa had been startled, but Jasper remained unfazed. He slowly released her after a lingering kiss. Staring at her moist lips, his eyes darkened.
The next second, his cold, sharp gaze swept over Estelle, sending a shiver down her spine. Only then did she realize how out of line she’d been.
Her voice trembled. “I… I didn’t mean to interrupt, Jasper. I just wanted to change rooms. I prefer a room that faces south, but Maryanne wouldn’t listen to me.”
Her voice trembled with hurt, and her delicate features made her look so vulnerable.
Louisa stood up. “Sure. I’ll take you to look around.”
She turned back and winked at Jasper, her eyes bright and playful. “Go take a shower first. Don’t bother waiting for me, Jas.”

Her slender fingers lightly brushed across his firm chest, making his gaze darken instantly. She then turned and led Estelle upstairs.
Watching that, Estelle seethed silently. “Shameless!”
But her expression stayed sweet and her temper docile. “Louisa, can I stay closer to you? I’ll take this room, okay?”
As she spoke, Estelle pushed open the door to the room next to the couple’s. When she saw what was inside, she froze.
Louisa put on an apologetic look. “Oh no, I’m so sorry. He bought me way too many clothes today. The walk-in closet couldn’t fit them all, so this room ended up becoming my extra
closet.”
Looking at the smile on Louisa’s lips, Estelle wanted nothing more than to rip her face apart.
