Chapter 108 Money
After the makeup artist had just finished Isla Shaw’s look, Zoey Mitchell suddenly appeared
with her phone held high, chatting away by herself.
“Hey everyone, it’s Zoey! Did y’all remember to eat today?”
Wait–was she livestreaming?
The second everyone realized what was happening, they rushed toward her, trying to snatch
the phone.
“Isla just finished her makeup, she’s about to film. And aren’t her earrings just-”
Before Zoey could even finish the sentence, Mr. Bennett stepped in, grabbed her phone, and
smashed it to the ground. The screen went black instantly.
“Are
you out of your mind? Do you even know what you’re doing?!”
Stunned by his outburst, Zoey froze. “I–I just….”
Amelia Johnson, who had been playing a game, looked up and immediately cast aside her
teammates. “I’ve already taken down half the boss–good luck with the rest, guys.”
She walked over to Isla. “What just happened?”
Isla explained the whole livestream mess.
No wonder Mr. Bennett freaked out. Damien Taylor had literally just called with strict
instructions–no leaks before the series finishes production.
But seriously, what was Zoey trying to pull with that livestream?
Amelia figured it out quickly enough when a fierce–looking woman stormed in, practically
radiating menace–and her eyes locked right onto Isla.
“Take off those earrings. Right. Now.”
A closer look confirmed it was Sarah Williams, the editor–in–chief of a top fashion mag,
someone you really didn’t want to cross if fashion exposure was part of your career plan.
From a few steps away, Zoey was still playing it cool, barely holding back a smug grín.
Nailed it. She’d not only made Isla offend a major fashion figure, but it might even get Amelia

fired in the process. Two birds, one stone.
Isla blinked, caught off guard. “What’s wrong with the earrings?”
Clam
Sarah looked like she was about to explode. “What’s wrong? We just lost a pair of earrings
from our shoot–and seconds later, you’re wearing them.”
“And that’s not even the worst part. These are unreleased prototypes. Not even on the market
yet.”
“And now? Thanks to that livestream, they’ve already been shown online. Do you even realize
how serious this is?”
Isla looked toward the makeup artist, who panicked and pointed a nervous finger at Amelia.
“I–I had nothing to do with it. She’s the one who gave them to me.”
Things had spiraled fast. Amelia finally saw Zoey’s game–livestreaming the earrings to stir
things up, then sticking around just to watch the chaos unfold.
She should’ve known Zoey couldn’t be trusted.
“Yeah, I handed them over,” Amelia admitted, taking the fall. She’d been too busy dealing with
Sophia Lee’s situation earlier to keep track of everything.
Isla frowned slightly. She knew someone was trying to set Amelia up.
“So you’re the thief?” Sarah’s tone turned mocking as she sized up Amelia. “You look decent
enough–who knew you were the sneaky type? Or is it because you’ve got some beef with
Isla?”
Amelia exchanged a quick glance with Isla–they both almost laughed.
Beef? Not even close.
Isla straightened up. “I’m really sorry, Ms. Williams. She works for me, so I’ll take full
responsibility for all the losses.”
Sarah scoffed. “Responsibility? You think this is something money can fix?“Amelia Johnson
raised an eyebrow. “So, how do you think we should deal with this?”
“First of all-”
“First of all, those earrings aren’t for sale and won’t hit the market.”
