Chapter 133 Someone close to you
Claim
Isla Shaw was speed–walking toward the elevator when she suddenly ran smack into a pack
of paparazzi. Heart skipping a beat, she spun around and immediately spotted Liam Taylor
nearby. Without thinking, she yanked him over, using his tall frame as a human shield.
Caught off guard by the pull, Liam thought someone was attacking him and reflexively
reached out behind him.
“Ah!”
Halfway through her scream, Isla clamped her mouth shut and hissed under her breath, “Hey,
perv! Let go of me!”
Liam, confused, frowned and gave a quick squeeze. “Wait…what the heck is this? Why is it so
soft?”
“You jerk!” Isla punched him hard, making Liam wince as he quickly pulled his hand back.
Clutching his side in pain, Liam groaned, “Seriously, lady? What’s your problem?”
Isla’s face was blazing. This guy just copped a feel and acted like nothing happened!
But with those reporters still lurking around, she had no choice but to crouch behind him and
mutter, “Stay right there or I swear I’ll make you regret it.”
Liam looked at her like she’d lost it. “Why the hell should I listen to you?”
“Because of what you just did!” Isla glared at him from behind her shades.
“What did I even do?” Liam was still totally clueless.
Isla leaned closer, pinching his waist with a warning squeeze. “Try walking away and see
what happens. I’ll twist you like a pretzel.”
Out of options, Liam finally sighed and stood still like a bodyguard.
“So, who are you hiding from? Loan sharks? How much do you owe? I might just write it off
as charity work!” Liam chuckled.
Isla rolled her eyes so hard it almost gave her a headache. She pulled out her phone and
quickly called Amelia Johnson. “Hey, Amelia, I’m in a bit of a jam. The place is crawling with
paparazzi and I’m stuck.”

She turned to Damien Taylor and filled him in. “She absolutely can’t get caught sneaking off
set.”
Just then, Emily Carter called, slightly out of breath. “Amelia, help! I’m trying to hold off the
reporters but I don’t know where Isla is–wait, I think I just saw Sophia Lee!”
Amelia’s eyes lit up. “Okay, don’t panic. Isla just called, she’s holding up fine. Leave the rest to
me.”
She dug out her laptop, rolled up her sleeves, and muttered, “Time to go full hacker mode.”
In less than five minutes, she had everything under control. Shutting the laptop, she texted
Isla, telling her it was safe to meet up with Emily.
Isla: You’re a total lifesaver, Amelia!
Amelia: Haha, get up here already!
Isla slipped the phone back in her pocket and gave Liam a light tap. “Alright, kiddo, you’re free
to go.”
“Kiddo?” Liam raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. He grabbed the back of Isla’s collar

and effortlessly lifted her off the ground.
“Wait, what? When did I get this strong? I just picked up a–what, chubby girl?”
Isla’s eyes went wide. No one had ever called her chubby in her life!
And for the record, she was so not chubby!Liam Taylor gave Isla Shaw a once–over and
sneered, “Weird. You look kinda chubby, but you’re super light. Don’t tell me you’re inflatable?”
“Let go,” Isla snapped, her eyes sharp as knives.
He let go immediately, but didn’t back off–his devil–may–care face moved closer as he teasingly corrected her, “Just so you know, I’m not a kid anymore. One wrong move and you’ll
