Chapter 145 His friend–1
Amelia Johnson let out a soft breath and looked up, surprised to see Brandon Taylor.
“Brandon, what brings you here?”
Brandon gave her a warm smile. “Liam told me you had a performance today. I happened to
be free, so I thought I’d come check it out. Wanna grab a bite after the competition? I’ve got a
friend I want you to meet.”
“Sure,” Amelia agreed without hesitation.
After chatting a bit with Brandon, Amelia headed backstage to get ready.
Since Sabrina Johnson’s turn was earlier, she’d already gone to wait by the stage. Ethan
Collins couldn’t find Amelia, so he got pulled along by Sabrina.
Grace Williams dragged Jessica and Rachel Williams down to the front row to cheer Sabrina
“Jess, Rachel, you two stay here and watch. I’m gonna take a quick walk around,” Grace said
as she grabbed her purse and left in a bit of a rush.
“Auntie, where are you going?” Rachel asked curiously.
Jessica’s eyes stayed on the confident Sabrina up on stage, the corners of her lips lifting in a
knowing smile. “Don’t worry about it, kiddo. Just enjoy the show.”
Soon it was Sabrina’s turn. She’d practiced hard for this and while her piece wasn’t perfect, it
was passable.
Backstage, Jessica didn’t hold back her praise once Sabrina finished. “You played great,
sweetheart. Auntie’s real proud of you.”
Sabrina smirked. “I’m not losing this time, that’s for sure.”
Determined to catch Amelia messing up on stage, Sabrina insisted on staying in the
audience for nearly two hours. She kept repeating, “You just wait. It’s gonna be really
exciting.”
Ethan raised a brow–her tone felt a little off. But honestly, he wasn’t expecting much from
Amelia.

He was convinced her piano skills from that last party were just a fluke–she probably
crammed at the last minute or got lucky. No real talent there.

Suddenly, Rachel’s eyes lit up as she nudged the others, pointing at two good–looking guys in
the front row–one of them in a wheelchair. As soon as Amelia stepped on stage, their faces
turned serious with attention. The sunny–looking one even pulled out his phone to film.
“Look, look!” Rachel squealed. “Auntie, Aunt! Those guys are totally watching Amelia!”
Sabrina followed her line of sight, and her expression went cold fast. Wow, what a welcome
