In the end, Sabrina Johnson pulled off an impressive performance and clinched first place,
earning the rare chance to perform with Arthur Blake in two days live on the big screen. The
taste of victory after so long brought her to tears–it was a turning point in her life.
Richard Johnson and Grace Williams were over the moon with joy. That very night, they
booked a private room at a seven–star restaurant to celebrate her big win in style.
Of course, Amelia Johnson had to be there too.
As soon as she walked in, she saw Ethan Collins, Patricia Collins, and even a few kids already
there, though Mr. Collins didn’t show up.
Grace was chatting happily with Patricia, while Sabrina cozied up to Ethan with that sweet tone of hers. “Ethan, I didn’t let you down this time, did I? Don’t you think I’ve got real talent?”
Ethan honestly hadn’t expected her to come in first. He nodded and gave her a few
compliments, which instantly lit up her face with a smile.
But the moment he saw Amelia, his eyes were drawn to her before he could even stop himself. There was something about her that just pulled him in–it was like he was under a
spell.
Sabrina caught that look. Though she kept smiling, jealousy was eating her alive.
She stood up and called out, “Sis, that seat’s meant for the elders. We young folks should
really sit over here.”
Her words made her sound grounded and respectful, earning approving nods from the older
relatives.
Amelia gave a small, polite smile. “No need to rush, little sis. I’m not sitting yet, just passing
by.”
She was trying to avoid having to sit near Ethan.
Sabrina’s smile faltered a bit. She realized she jumped the gun. And seeing Ethan practically glued to Amelia with his eyes just made her even more restless.
“Heh… I was just reminding you.”

“Thanks for looking out, sis.” Amelia smiled warmly and walked over to sit with the kids,
clearly preferring their company.
The little ones crowded around her excitedly.
Not to be outdone, Sabrina followed suit and pulled out the candy stash she’d brought.
Predictably, the kids ran to her. Except for one ponytailed girl, who stayed next to Amelia.

“Mia, go on over to Sabrina for some candy,” her mom said with a stern look, then turned to
gossip with someone beside her. “Someone like Amelia, getting disqualified for cheating
through connections? I don’t want my kid around that.”
Sabrina was secretly thrilled. Hah! Amelia, open your eyes–tonight, you’re the odd one out.
But Amelia didn’t seem bothered at all. Instead, she casually turned to chat with Rachel
Williams, who was off in a corner tapping on her phone.
“Didn’t Sabrina play amazingly in the finals yesterday?”
Rachel
gave a half–hearted laugh. “Yeah, she did.”
“I heard playing piano boosts a woman’s poise. When we get home, I’ll have Sabrina teach me a thing or two.” Amelia chuckled, then added, “What about you? Not planning to learn? I
mean, free elite piano lessons, who could say no, right?”
Her tone was so full of admiration and envy, Rachel couldn’t help but let out a laugh. What a
clueless i***t.
A flicker of something flashed through Amelia’s eyes as she tilted her head. “What’s so funny? Don’t tell me you think Sabrina won’t teach you?“… Well, I don’t think I’m that talented, better not.” Rachel Williams shook her head with a shrug.
“Nah, I’ve seen you pick things up really fast,” Amelia Johnson said seriously, listing a couple moments she’d quietly noticed Rachel’s strengths. Rachel was both surprised and delighted -finally, someone who actually saw her potential.
Her impression of Amelia subtly shifted. Then she glanced at the other side of the room where Sabrina Johnson was getting all the attention from the relatives and kids–Rachel’s
eyes showed a flash of disdain.
“You know, if you had entered the competition, you probably would’ve scored pretty well too,”

Having just been flattered, Rachel nodded quickly in agreement, but then said sarcastically,
She subtly pulled out her phone and quietly messaged Emily to dig into Jessica instead.
