Chapter 152 I’m here to take you home,-2
Luckily, the food arrived not long after.
They ate quietly.
Amelia snuck glances at Damien now and then. Something felt off with him tonight. She
almost said something a couple of times but couldn’t bring herself to.

She accidentally jabbed her chopsticks too hard against the bottom of the bowl, making a
loud noise. Damien looked up, his eyes meeting hers. “What’s wrong?”
“What’s wrong with you?” Amelia mumbled back. “You’ve barely said a word all night.”
Damien lowered his gaze, looking kind of… sad. So much that Amelia started wondering if
she’d done something to upset him–an unexplained wave of guilt crept in.
“Hey… seriously, what’s going on?” Her voice softened as she asked gently.
But Damien didn’t answer. Instead, he just quietly picked out food for her. “This–your
favorite, right? And this. Oh, and this one too…”

eat up.”
Amelia frowned. This wasn’t like him. Something was definitely wrong tonight.

her feel like she was the villain or something.
Like she’d broken his heart?
“Damien…” She hesitated a bit before speaking.
But he didn’t really react.
Amelia paused for a beat and switched her tone. “Um… hey, D?”
“Hmm? Yeah, babe?” Damien’s whole mood flipped in a second–smiling, eyes twinkling–like
he hadn’t just been sulking minutes ago. Fastest mood swing ever.
