Chapter 164 Maybe if he had met her a little earlier–1

The moment Sabrina Johnson took out her phone, Jessica Williams was already picturing
Richard Johnson going ballistic on Amelia Johnson. Just the thought of it made her mood
instantly better.
Once Amelia got back, it’d be game over for her.
Twenty–something durian–and–leek mooncakes in one sitting? Just imagining it was enough
to give someone a stomach ache.
Trying to go against her? That’s what you get.
Just as Sabrina was about to call her sister, Rachel Williams passed her phone over, eyes full
of sarcasm. “Dad, I don’t think there’s any need to call her.”
Richard snatched the phone to take a look, his expression twisting in an ugly way. He was
livid, but also stuck.
It’s not like he had it in him to go against Mr. Taylor.
But seeing Amelia and Damien Taylor getting along so well did ease him a bit.
Lately, a bunch of Johnson Group’s new clients were only working with them because of Damien. That, in turn, was helping their status in Heliovard go up big time.
“Damien, about those mooncakes…” Jessica started to say, subtly showing the small cuts on
her pale hand from making them.
The smell lingering in the air was enough to irritate Richard. He frowned and said, “Come on, why did you even listen to her?”
Jessica gave a soft, pitiful nod. “Yeah, I was being silly.”
Rachel was kind of confused. Why was her aunt throwing her under the bus like that? Clearly,
all of this was Amelia’s doing!
What she didn’t realize, though, was Jessica had played it perfectly–making Richard think Amelia was immature while also feeling bad for her.
Richard turned to a housekeeper. “Go grab some ointment for Jessica. As for the
mooncakes? Just toss them.”

“But wouldn’t that be such a waste? I mean, Amelia said she liked them, that’s why Auntie
went through the trouble to make them. Maybe keep two?” Rachel piped up, clearly being
prompted by Jessica.
