Calling instead of opening the door? Seriously?
Claim
Sabrina got even more suspicious–Amelia had to be hiding something in her room. She
opened her mouth, ready to demand answers, only to find the call already ended. Furious, she
stomped her feet.
“Alright, acting all high and mighty? Let’s see how long that lasts!”
She spun around and stormed downstairs.
Meanwhile, Grace and the others were still waiting in the garden, expecting Amelia to see
them off. But only Sabrina showed up.
Richard’s face darkened. “Why are you the only one down here?”
Sabrina looked all pitiful. “She said she wants to sleep. I woke her up and she just yelled at
me…”
Hearing that, Richard’s anger shot straight up and he made to go upstairs himself, but Sabrina stopped him. “Dad, she locked the door from the inside. We can’t get in unless we
break it down.”
Jessica, ever the peacemaker, chimed in, “Let it go, brother–in–law. If Amelia wants to sleep, let her. We’re all family here anyway, no need to stand on ceremony. But if it were outsiders, it might leave a bad impression. You and Amelia should really talk to her more in the future.”
Then she sighed dramatically. “If I didn’t have something urgent to do, I’d stay behind and
have a proper chat with her.”
Grace gave a small smile. “We can come back next time. Let’s go before traffic gets bad.”
The surface looked calm, but undercurrents were definitely at play.
Upstairs, however, it was a whole different vibe–sweet and cozy.
Worried about the cold morning air, Amelia carefully pulled the blanket over Damien, her gaze
lingering on his face.
His features were just unfairly perfect–sharp yet warm. A face sculpted by the gods or
something.

She stared with dreamy eyes, her fingers tracing his features before she even realized it. This
guy was ridiculously good–looking.
Damien finally stirred around eight.
Amelia, for some reason, instinctively shut her eyes and pretended to still be asleep. She had
no clue why she did it, maybe just a knee–jerk reaction.
