Chapter 170 What about a body double?
Claim
Having Damien Taylor around the whole day really put Amelia Johnson in a good mood–she
wasn’t just feeling better physically, her spirits were lifted too.
It wasn’t until after ten at night that she walked Damien out. She lingered at the door, waving
as his car taillights disappeared into the dark.
“But where are they? How come they’re still not back?”
She frowned. Had Damien sent Richard and them to some fancy dinner?
It wasn’t until around midnight that Richard Johnson and the others came back looking
absolutely exhausted. Sabrina Johnson’s makeup was all smudged, and they honestly looked
like they’d run a marathon.
Though everyone was silently grumbling, no one dared actually complain out loud–it was
Damien Taylor’s invitation, after all.
“But we didn’t even see him!” Sabrina huffed, obviously annoyed.
Richard didn’t look too happy either, but still reminded her, “Come on, it’s a huge honor to be
invited.”
“Enough whining. Not everyone gets this kind of chance,” he added.
Sabrina rolled her eyes and stomped upstairs. As she walked past Amelia’s room, she threw her a jealous glare. If Amelia had gone, it would’ve been a whole different story.
Hmph. Guess you lucked out this time.
The next morning, Amelia woke up refreshed and knocked out the amusement park design task like a pro. Later, she found out from Emily Carter that the boss of the First Consortium was thrilled with her work–so much so that he even threw in an extra five million on top of the original payment.
“Man, that’s some serious big money,” Amelia couldn’t help but say.
Emily nodded. “Well, that’s the First Consortium for you. Money isn’t a problem.”
Feeling curious, Amelia grabbed her laptop on a whim to dig up who this mysterious CEO was using her hacking skills–but no dice. The firewall was insane. Like, not even a tiny c***k

to squeeze through. In the end, she just closed it and gave up.
Emily suddenly said, “Isla’s joining the production tomorrow.”

“Huh? That soon?” Amelia was confused and raised an eyebrow. “What’s going on? Tell me
properly.”
She remembered Isla Shaw had promised they’d go on a vacation together after wrapping up
“The Disappearing Pen Pal.” So this sudden change had to mean something unexpected
came up.
Emily explained, “She really wanted to tell you herself, but things moved fast and she got
super busy. You know her first agency, right? She agreed to take on this drama for them to
show her gratitude.”
Ah. That made sense now. Amelia just nodded.
“Then I’ll go visit her on set tomorrow,” she said.
The next day.
Seeing Amelia show up really touched Isla. “I swear, this time when filming wraps, we’re
definitely going on that trip.”
“I know, no pressure,” Amelia smiled and hugged her. “Today I’m your stand–in assistant.”
Isla beamed. “Then I won’t hold back!”
As Isla was about to put on some heels, Amelia stopped her. “Hold up, your foot’s okay now?
“Yeah, it’s pretty much healed,” Isla replied.
When she got back from the countryside, Liam Taylor had sent her some special ointment
that worked like magic.
Suddenly, a sarcastic voice rang out, “Wow, Miss Amelia Johnson being an assistant today?
You’re wasting your looks–should’ve just taken the lead role.”
That mocking tone was all too familiar. Amelia looked up and saw Zoey Mitchell in a vintage
costume.
Turns out Zoey’s also part of this project? Girl’s got solid connections, apparently.

Amelia just gave a lazy smirk. The golden sunlight through the window bathed her in a soft
glow, and honestly, she looked more like the star than the actual lead actor.“If I really wanted
the lead role, all Damien Taylor needs to do is say the word. Beats certain someone who
schmoozes their way through dinners and still ends up stuck playing the eternal second
female. Don’t you think so, Ms. Mitchell?”
