This MV was all about motorcycle racing. Amelia Johnson stood to the side, watching Liam
Taylor and Isla Shaw standing together. Honestly, they kind of looked good as a pair.
Well, until they started arguing again.
“This isn’t a joke, you know? If you don’t hold on tight and fly off, I’m not responsible. I’ve
already warned you,” Liam said seriously.
Isla was so pissed she wanted to sock him in the face.
“Shut up already!”
Liam didn’t argue back. He just grabbed her hands and wrapped them around his waist. “Hold
on tight, let’s try to nail this in one take.”
As soon as he said it, he started the engine. Isla had no choice but to cling to him for dear
life.
Thank God it was a wide shot. Otherwise, they’d have to reshoot just because her face was
full of pure terror.
During break time, Isla dragged Amelia off to rant. “Seriously, what’s a rich kid like him doing
here slumming it? Most importantly, why is he here to mess with me?!”
Amelia felt stuck between a rock and a hard place–Isla was her bestie, but Liam was
technically her brother–in–law. She could only offer Isla a weak laugh as comfort.
“And he’s unbelievable! Keeps asking me what kind of guys I like, says he wants to set me up
with someone!”
Now she really looked pissed–what, did she look that desperate?
Amelia blinked. “Wait, he wants to play matchmaker for you?”
“Yeah! Who knows what kind of weird episode he’s having.” Isla rolled her eyes and shot a
glare in Liam’s direction.
Liam happened to look up, smiled like sunshine, and even waved.
Isla didn’t hesitate to roast him. “Total i***t. Can’t wait to wrap this shoot so I don’t have to
see that clown anymore.”

Just then, a thought hit Amelia. Her eyes lit up. “Isla, remember that river lantern night?
Please don’t tell me you still make the same wish every single year–like when we were kids-
to meet a good guy?”
Isla’s face turned red as she gave a sheepish little nod. Yeah… she did.
Amelia suddenly got it. That’s why Liam kept trying to set her up with people.
The day after the lantern night, Oliver Foster had mentioned something–when they all went
to watch the fireflies, Liam wasn’t there. Turned out he’d gone into the river to retrieve the
lantern Isla had released.
Apparently, he overheard someone saying that the wish wouldn’t come true unless you set
the lantern yourself. He must’ve thought he ruined it… so then tried to make up for it in his
own way.
If Amelia remembered right, he even caught a cold that night.
She bit her lip, torn about whether to tell Isla about it or not.
Just as she opened her mouth, Isla’s manager came over to say it was time to prep for the
next shoot.
Amelia could only swallow the words back and go back to working on her novel.
Right then, a director messaged her–wanted to collaborate on turning “Misty” into a TV
series.
It was the director who did the “Missing Pen Pal” trilogy.
From any angle, it was a great opportunity. Amelia told him she’d agree once the novel was
finished.
Thinking about her story becoming a drama too, just like Damien Taylor’s work, gave her a
jolt of excitement–like she was finally catching up to him.
Over at the Johnsons‘ place. Ever since Amelia Johnson had outsmarted them that day, both
Sabrina Johnson and Grace Williams had been fuming. They’d planned to mess with her as
soon as she came home, just to let off steam. But turns out, Amelia hadn’t come back at all
