Chapter 216
Seeing Isla Shaw and Liam Taylor bicker again, Amelia Johnson couldn’t help but laugh. Those two were the very definition of a love–hate duo.
Isla’s cheeks were flushed red–whether from anger or shyness, it was hard to tell.
“Fine, then drink it. All of it. Not a single drop left. Don’t you dare waste Amelia’s efforts!” Isla
huffed and stormed off to continue the photoshoot.
Once she walked off, Liam leaned over slightly and lowered his voice, “So, tell me what kind of guys does Isla usually go for? I wanna help find her someone.”
“Uh… maybe just ask her yourself?”
“I already tried… like, a bunch of times. She refuses to say anything!”
Just then, Rachel Williams finally couldn’t hold it in anymore. She’d been totally ignored, and now
she blurted out, “Hey, Liam! I’m Rachel Williams!”
Liam finally looked at her. “Oh, you’re not staff?”
Rachel quickly shook her head and shot Amelia a desperate glance, clearly begging for a proper
intro.
So Amelia introduced Rachel to Liam, but right after that, she urged him, “Alright, you’d better go
get ready. Time’s tight.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ll be back quick, Second
Liam headed off to change.
Rachel stared at Liam’s retreating figure like lovestruck emojis were about to float out of her eyes.
“Cousin Amelia, does Liam have a girlfriend?”
Amelia, catching on to Rachel’s intentions, just shook her head. “No idea.”
“By the way, can you grab me something to eat? I’m starving.” As she spoke, Amelia deliberately gave her an address that was ridiculously far away.
Rachel’s face screamed reluctance, but she remembered what Jessica Williams told her: obey
Amelia no matter what. Only by gaining Amelia’s trust could she meet the Taylors and maybe get
her big shot.
By the time Rachel got back, Amelia had her carrying boxes, then running errands as Isla’s
temporary assistant.
After a whole day of running around like a headless chicken, Rachel hadn’t even said one word to

Liam!
Later that night, she immediately called Jessica to vent. “Aunt Jessica! I don’t know what to do- Amelia totally ignores me and just bosses me around all day!”
Jessica didn’t look too happy either, listening over the phone. “It’s okay, at least she’s still letting/ you tag along. Maybe she’s still mad about something you did before. Let her blow off some
steam–after that, things might change.”
After that pep talk, Rachel felt a little better.
She went downstairs to grab a snack and nearly jumped when she saw Sabrina Johnson sneaking
food.
“Wait, Sabrina? Didn’t you say you were full at dinner? And now you’re stuffing your face? Be careful,
or you’ll pop!”
Sabrina froze but relaxed a little once she saw it was just Rachel. She picked up the food and quickly headed back upstairs, not bothering to respond–mostly because Rachel had been up
Amelia’s skirt lately.
Rachel mumbled under her breath, “Geez, treating people like air. So what if you’re pregnant?” But honestly, she’d never seen a pregnant woman who didn’t look pregnant at all.
The next morning-
Amelia barely reached the stairs when she heard Sabrina’s voice downstairs, along with another familiar one. Looking over, she realized it was Patricia Collins.
“Sabrina, I’ll go with you later to the hospital for a check–up,” Patricia was saying.
Sabrina nearly dropped the bowl in her hand. Panic flickered in her eyes, and she quickly said, “No, Auntie, really, there’s no need…“How can you skip your prenatal check–ups? What if something’s wrong with the baby?”
After Patricia Collins repeatedly tried to talk her into it, Sabrina Johnson had no more excuses and reluctantly agreed. “Fine, but not today. I’ll go tomorrow.”
“Okay, I’ll pick you up in the morning,” Patricia said and then left.
That scared to do a check–up?
Amelia Johnson couldn’t help but connect the dots. All the weird little things lately… maybe Sabrina wasn’t even pregnant in the first place.
“Amelia?” Just as Sabrina was heading upstairs to look for her, she noticed Amelia standing by the
stairs.
Snapping out of her thoughts, Amelia gave her sister a once–over, her eyes sharp, making Sabrina instinctively stiffen up in discomfort.
“It was Ethan’s mom–she dropped off a bunch of supplements just now. Said Ethan picked them
