Chapter 220
you really saw me as your sister, then why haven’t you ever introduced me to Damien’s family?” Sabrina asked, clearly jealous.
Amelia raised her brows, feigning surprise. “Isn’t Ethan the one you like? I figured I shouldn’t mess
things up.”
Sabrina choked on her words, left speechless.
She could only glare at Amelia in frustration as Amelia left with Rachel.
At the set.
Liam and Isla were at it again, bickering back and forth like usual. It was getting intense- practically fireworks by now. If Amelia hadn’t shown up when she did, these two might’ve kept arguing till midnight.
“Perfect timing, sis–in–law! You’ve got to settle this. She-”

“Mr. Taylor, this is a special gift I picked out just for you. I really hope you like it.” Rachel suddenly stepped forward, presenting the gift box with a bashful smile.
Isla raised her brows, amused. “Wait, really? You’re into him?”
Being called “little girl” made Rachel stiff. She already disliked how Isla was not only gorgeous but always around Liam. And now this?
“Uh… we don’t really know each other that well. So I think I’ll pass on the gift,” Liam replied, pulling a polite but distant smile.
Sure, he was nice by default, but if he wasn’t vibing with someone, he had no issue shutting it down completely.
Rachel’s eyes welled up. “Can I ask why, though? You don’t already have a girlfriend, right? So I thought maybe I-”
“I do have one. Right here.” Liam didn’t hesitate, pulling Isla beside him.
He leaned in and whispered, “Hey, I helped you last time. It’s your turn now.”
Isla looked at him like he was trouble but gave a tiny nod. “Yeah, just like he said. I’m his girlfriend.”
“Wha-“Rachel’s shoulders stiffened. Her eyes darted to Amelia like she’d been stabbed in the back. She felt humiliated, convinced that Amelia set this all up.
“I hate you, Amelia Johnson!”

With that shout, Rachel spun around and ran off, sobbing.
Amelia just shrugged. She did her part–tried to help link them up. What else could she do? She didn’t have a remote control for people’s minds.
As soon as Rachel left, Isla stepped away from Liam like nothing happened. “We’re even now.”
Liam raised a brow. “Even? You serious? I hit my head ‘cause of you last time.”
“Okay, then what do you want?”
“Here’s the deal. Come over this weekend for dinner. My mom’s your super fan,” Liam said.
Isla paused, then finally nodded.
“Hey! Damien’s here too? Wait, don’t tell me you two planned this together!” Liam’s sharp eyes caught Damien right away.
Amelia turned, noticing Damien’s expression was way darker than usual. “What’s wrong?”
“Your cousin just bad–mouthed you outside… and confessed to me,” Damien said flatly. Liam perked up. “And? What happened next?”
“What do you think? I turned her down,” Damien said seriously, his eyes locked onto Amelia’s. He still remembered the last time she got jealous–he definitely didn’t want to go through that again.
Amelia bit her lip, trying not to laugh.
Although… now she was curious. How exactly did Damien shut Rachel down?
Not long after, Amelia saw a trending video online. Everyone was praising Damien for turning someone down like a total boss.
She watched it and couldn’t stop laughing–almost fell off the couch. Damien Taylor looked right at Rachel Williams, who stood there all lovestruck and hopeful, and flat–out said, “You’re too ugly for me.” Then, without a second glance, he just turned around and left.
It was super harsh, no doubt, but brutal honesty? Yeah, that was pretty much him.
Back at the Johnsons‘ house, Amelia Johnson noticed Jason Williams‘ car parked outside and instantly knew–Rachel had come crying back and tattled.
“I wanna go home! She bullied me, humiliated me, made people laugh at me!” Rachel wailed, totally losing it. “Now everyone online is mocking me!”
Sabrina Johnson, not one to miss a drama, went right in with fake sympathy. “Oh Rachel, don’t take it too hard, okay? I mean, look at me–I’ve been played so many times I’ve lost count. Think of it as
a lesson learned.”
Then, feigning a slip of the tongue, she just so happened to “accidentally” spill how Amelia had bassed Rachel around earlier.
“Richard, come on. Amelia bullying Rachel like this? You’ve got to do something about it,” he
Truth be told, Richard Johnson was already having a hard enough time with Amelia, not least because Damien Taylor was involved.
Standing beside him, Jessica Williams gave a huffy sigh and tried to calm Jason down, gently patting his hand. “Jason, don’t blame me for speaking up, but if Amelia keeps acting like this… it’s a problem. Honestly, the sooner she gets married and has a kid, the sooner she’ll understand life isn’t about being reckless. Or just make her get a job–stop letting her stir up trouble at home.”
She even offered to set Amelia up with someone, which Richard declined right away. No way was he gonna throw away such a golden opportunity—his daughter marrying Damien? That’s jackpot
Once Jason and the rest were out the door, Amelia finally walked in. Not because she was scared of them or anything–she just couldn’t be bothered wasting her time on nonsense.
Seeing the not–so–kind look on his face, Amelia didn’t really want to deal but dragged herself over anyway. “Yeah, Dad?”
“How are things with Damien? Has he said when he’s going to marry you? Give you a proper title?”
Amelia had seen this coming from a mile away, so she kept it vague on purpose. That only made Richard more worked up.
“You two have been together long enough! It’s time to lock this down. You’ve gotta push him to marry you–it’s the only thing that matters right now.”
“Mm–hmm, got it,” Amelia nodded, clearly not taking it seriously.
