Chapter 219
When Amelia Johnson found out that this was the reason she started questioning her own
orientation, she was totally speechless. Damien Taylor, on the other hand, didn’t know whether to laugh or cry – he pulled her in and kissed her hard, but didn’t take it too far.
Holding her close, he murmured in a low voice, “Silly girl, how could I not want you? You have no idea how much I’ve been holding back – I’m this close to losing it. But you’re not used to this kind/
of thing, so I’m just taking it slow… but one day, you’re really gonna be mine.”
Those gentle, deep words whispered in her ear just made Amelia weak in the knees.
Her heart was pounding crazy fast.
In the end, she could only nod shyly.
“Growl…”
Suddenly, her stomach chimed in, and Damien sat up, reaching out to fix her clothes. “Hang tight, I’ll go make you some noodles.”
The way that sounded in Amelia’s ears – it totally had another meaning.
Her face turned bright red again.
“I’m not in a hurry…”
Her soft voice and cute expression made Damien’s muscles tense up again. But in the end, he just kissed her forehead and reminded himself not to rush things.
At the Collins residence.
When Mr. Collins found out that Sabrina Johnson had faked her pregnancy, he almost burst a vessel. “I was against this marriage from the beginning. Now look at this mess – such disgrace! No way am I agreeing to this wedding!”
Even Patricia Collins couldn’t say a word to defend Sabrina this time. They’d all been played.
Ethan Collins sat on the side, completely silent.
He hadn’t wanted to be engaged to Sabrina in the first place – now this was the perfect excuse to
break it off.
As soon as Richard Johnson heard about Mr. Collins‘ reaction, he rushed to their home with Grace Williams and Sabrina, gifts in hand, trying to change the old man’s mind.
“Mr. Collins, I really don’t think Sabrina meant any harm. It’s not entirely her fault,” Richard tried to

explain.
Grace immediately backed him up: “Exactly, Mr. Collins. She was going to tell the truth the moment
she found out she wasn’t pregnant. It’s my fault – I was the one who stopped her. I was just too
caught up in the moment. If you need someone to blame, blame me.”
All Grace could do was throw herself under the bus for her daughter’s future.
But Mr. Collins had been around the block of course, he saw through her act. “Mrs. Johnson, you don’t have to say anything more. My mind’s made up.”
Seeing that there was no way to change his decision, Richard had no choice but to call Amelia.
He knew the only person Mr. Collins might still listen to was her.
When Amelia got the call, she really didn’t want to go. She knew exactly what kind of person Sabrina was – why should she do her a favor?
But thinking it over, Ethan Collins wasn’t any better.
Might as well let the two of them deal with each other, and save the rest of the world.
When Amelia arrived, she could already sense the tension in the house, and could hear Sabrina
crying.
“You… why are you here?” Mr. Collins was obviously surprised, then glanced at Richard and instantly understood. He stood up. “Let’s talk in the side room. Just looking at the rest of them is giving me a headache.”
Amelia quickly walked up to him and took his hand, acting sweet. “Grandpa Collins, don’t be upset. It’s not worth it to get yourself worked up like this.“Exactly, exactly, Amelia’s right. Mr. Collins only listens to her,” he chuckled.
Seeing how close they were, basically like real family, made everyone in the living room feel a little
bitter.
Especially Sabrina. She looked like she was about to pass out from anger, but Grace held her down so tightly that she didn’t get a chance to leap up.
Ethan, on the other hand, had a complicated expression. He wasn’t too happy that Amelia got
But deep down, he figured–there’s no way Grandpa would really be swayed by her.
Still, Sabrina had really crossed the line this time.
And honestly, he believed Amelia’s heart still had a spot for him, at least a little.
An hour dragged on before Mr. Collins finally let Sabrina and Ethan in. They were both anxious and
on edge.
“Grandpa, I promise, I won’t go against you again. I’ll do whatever you say.” Ethan made his position
“What?” Ethan stared, looking totally shocked. “Did you just say… you’re letting it go?”
