“Chill, Damien Taylor is the perfect stand-in,” Emily replied with an innocent smile.

Amelia shot her a glare. “Are you out of your mind? Why would Damien go along with something this ridiculous?”

Emily scratched her nose sheepishly. “Actually… Damien already talked to your mom on the phone…”

“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Amelia turned to Damian across the room. “Right? You didn’t actually-”

Damien met her gaze calmly. “She’s not kidding.”

She had just taken a sip of water and nearly choked.

Emily looked a bit wronged. “You haven’t gone home in so long. I just wanted your folks to be happy. They already think you have a boyfriend.”
