“What’s wrong with Amelia?” Ethan CoNins sounded a bit concerned.

Sabrina Johnson replied, “She hurt her foot. Damien Taylor took her to get it looked at.”

Ethan frowned. “She got hurt? When did that happen? Why didn’t I hear anything?”

Sabrina said casually, “Last night.”

“Last night?” Ethan thought back. “She didn’t seem hurt at all.”

“I’ll call her,” he said, pulling out his phone. “You don’t have to stress.”

Amelia had just finished eating and was about to get up when her phone lit up on the table. She glanced at the screen, and a frown made its way onto her face.

Emily Carter looked over and teased, “Well, look who it is-Ethan. What’s he calling for?”

“How would I know?” Amelia muttered, hitting the answer button.

“Where are you?” Ethan’s voice came through, clearly irritated.

Amelia blinked. “At my cousin’s place.”

“Again with the cousin story. You think I’m five or something?” Ethan sneered.

“I’m not making it up! I really am at my cousin’s,” Amelia replied, kind of annoyed.

“Prove it. Turn on your camera.”

“Sure.”

Amelia didn’t hesitate. She switched to video and pulled Emily into frame. “Here, see? My cousin right here. Now, what exactly do you need?”
