After a while, Damien let go of Amelia and just held her hand instead.

Amelia said, “By the way… kinda move a lot in my sleep.”

Damien replied, “Same here.”

“Well, I’ll try to sleep now.”

“Good night.”

That night, Amelia dreamt of Damien-dreamt that he was on top of her, kissing her on the lips.

But that kiss… it felt way too real.

Amelia slowly opened her eyes-wait. Not a dream!

That was… her first kiss. Her actual first kiss!

This is seriously awkward. Should she say something? Or just pretend nothing happened?

She stayed silent. Damien didn’t say anything either.

The air between them was thick with weird tension… Wait, did Damien fall asleep?

“Damien?” she whispered.

No response. Looked like he was totally out.

Don’t tell her… was he sleepwalking or something?

Okay then, just act like it never happened.

The next morning, Amelia woke up to find Damien sleeping on the couch.

After she finished washing up, Damien got up too.

“You ended up sleeping on the couch?” Amelia asked, a bit puzzled.

“Sometimes I walk in my sleep,” he replied.

“Oh…” Geez, and he’s got sleepwalking issues too? She just kept that sarcasm in her head.

Damien looked over at her and asked, “What happened to your lips?”

Amelia instinctively touched her mouth. “Uh… this…”

Damien looked a little worried. “They were fine last night. How’d one night mess them up?”

She gave an awkward smile. “I grind my teeth a bit when I sleep. Probably bit myself.”

She really wanted to say, “Isn’t this your fault?”

But since he was supposedly sleepwalking, better to drop it. No need for more awkwardness.
