Chapter 52 Climbing into someone’s house at night
Solo match? Seriousty?
Claim
Amelia Johnson had initially wanted to skip it, but Ethan Collins kept bombarding her with messages, and it was seriously getting on her nerves.
Amelia: “Fine. Log in now.”
Right as the game started, Amelia had just one goal-finish it fast. So she went all out, no mercy.
After Ethan got his character killed twice, he turned on voice chat. “Are you seriously using a booster?”
Amelia: “”
Ethan: “Not answering? That’s a yes then.”
Amelia switched on her mic. “Ethan, it’s already late. If you don’t sleep soon, you’re gonna look like you haven’t slept in days.”
Her voice stunned Ethan into silence.
“I’ve killed you twice already. That counts as me winning, right?” she said.
“You home right now?” he asked, sounding suspicious.
“Of course I am,” she replied.
“I don’t buy it.” Ethan was convinced she’d brought in a booster.
Amelia rolled her eyes so hard they could’ve gotten stuck. “If you don’t believe me, just come over and see for yourself.”
With that, she logged out. She was exhausted and needed to crash.
Not long after, her phone buzzed again-this time it was a call. Ethan. Again.
She picked up. “Bro, I beg you, can I please just sleep?”
“I’m downstairs. Open your window. I wanna see you.”
“What for?” Amelia was starting to think he’d lost it.
“I just don’t think you’re actually at home.”
She was totally over it. “I’ll turn the lights on right now-happy?”
After a few seconds of quiet, he finally said, “Okay. Got it. Go get some rest.”
Once he saw the lights go off in Amelia’s room, Ethan stood there for a solid five minutes before suddenly walking forward.
