Chapter 51 Amelia frowned

Grace held onto Sabrina’s hand tightly. “Come on, Amelia’s pretty, sure. Men get tempted by a nice face at first glance-it’s normal. Even Ethan fell for her back then, didn’t he? But you pulled him back in no time. Where’s your confidence gone?”
Sabrina pouted. “It’s all the stuff that’s been going on lately. I feel like that bumpkin has changed somehow.
Grace didn’t take Amelia seriously at all. “So what if she’s changed? You really gonna talk yourself down and boost her up? That clueless thing thinks she can flip the script now? Please.
My daughter’s amazing, in every way better than that hick. Just a little lucky lately and now she thinks she’s hot stuff? Let’s show her what real despair looks like.”
Sabrina nodded. “You’re right, Mom. I’ve been overthinking it. That dumb country girl’s been slow all her life, no way she suddenly turned into a genius. Even if she plays smart now and then, it’s nothing compared to us.”
At that moment, Amelia had just pretended to make a call to Damien, but as luck had it, he really did call her just after she stepped into her room.
“Hey Summer, you home yet?” Damien asked.
“Yeah, just got in.”
“Are you free tomorrow night? I want to take you home to meet my family.” His voice was calm, but the way he clenched his fist said otherwise-he was nervous as hell.
Amelia thought for a second. “Can’t tomorrow. Got a party to go to.”
“What about the night after?” Damien asked quickly.
“That should work.”
Relief washed over Damien almost instantly. He was really worried she’d say no. “Okay, it’s a deal. No backing out.”
“…I won’t.” Amelia replied, though it felt weird to her for some reason. I mean, it’s just fake dating-what’s there to back out of?
Later, after a shower, Amelia laid in bed playing a mobile game.
After a couple of rounds, she got an invite from Ethan to team up. She hit decline and logged off.
Meanwhile, Ethan had teamed up with Sabrina in the game.
“Let’s get started, Sabrina,” he said.
